About me. . .
It must be pretty obvious that I'm a bit outlandish, an eclecticist, and all around weird being. Writer, artist, photographer, videographer, web dev, Stephen Minister, singer, UberGeek, Science Fiction fan girl, and on and on. One of the reasons for the nickname, Pedantic Bohemian. I got it way back in the 80's when I first began working for a daily newspaper. A news desk reporter friend of mine coined it when I took up the mantel of Lifestyles beat feature writer. . .and it's stuck ever since. I have to admit, it's pretty accurate.
I started my education in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, studying film production. I went into the Navy briefly, then married a Navy man. That gave me the opportunity to travel and experience so many amazing things and people. I worked as a features reporter for newspapers and magazines, was a forgeign correspondent for Reuters, a library technician on an Air Force base, and even did a stint as a death investigator during my degree work in criminology and pathophysiology. That ended up being a rather. . .shall I say it. . .dead end job. I went on to get another degree in computer science and did web developing for a number of years while I wrote three very unsuccessful science fiction manuscripts. Following my divorce in 2003, I decided to write about what I know best: the law, the Navy and human nature.
I've got such a wide range of interests, I can't even begin to list them all. But if you check out my friends. . .you'll get the idea.

TEN years ago in Washington DC, the US Navy JAG Corps' star litigator, Lieutenant Commander Sebastian "Sea Bass" Novotny, failed to advance to Commander. Feeling his life was at a dead end, he left the Navy. He climbed into a bottle, losing himself and his wife, fellow JAG lawyer, Emma Alden.
Five years ago, Novotny got sober and recovered his legal career.
Now he's the assistant DA for San Diego County, prosecuting a pedophile serial killer for 14 child murders. It's the case every prosecuter--and survivor--dreams about. It will catapult him to the highest echolon's of legal celebrity.
In the middle of the trial, Novotny is recalled into the Navy, under orders to return to DC. He must turn in his Gucci shoes, Armani suits, beard and ponytail for standard dress blues and a crew cut.
Returning to JAG headquarters under protest, Novotny finds that Alden is now a Captain and the Assistant Judge Advocate General. She's also the defense counsel for the case he's been assigned to prosecute.
Old wounds are swiftly reopened between Novotny and Alden as they go head to head on a volatile domestic violence case with treacherous undertones.
While mounting the government's case, Novotny is also saddled with the collateral duty of serving as technical advisor for Kathryn Teller, a famous novelist with a notorious reputation. In the midst of the turmoil, he finds himself losing his war face and falling into an unexpected and dangerous liaison.
Things go from bad to worse as witnesses and evidence disappear. Secrets and lies abound as higher authorities pull the strings and tip the scales of justice. Someone wants an acquittal and will do anything to see it happen . . . even murder.

Gospel, Christian rock, Symphonic Metal, Jazz, Blues, Trip-Hop, R-and-B, Techo/trance/dance, new age, classical (Mahler especially), World Beat. . .and KPLU - 88.5 NPR and Jazz/Blues from Pacific Lutheran University Seattle/Tacoma, the ONLY radio station in my home/car!
Admittedly, over the course of the last 5 years, my tastes have been edified and expanded thanks to the various incarnations of CSI. Lots of amazing, yet little known groups/music to thrill just about any audience. Just a few favorites I discovered thanks to CSI: Kosheen, Mandalay, Morcheeba, Poe, Portishead, Frou Frou, Lamb, Cinephile, A Perfect Circle. . . .
CINEMATIC THRILLS:
Gone with the Wind, Hunt for Red October, Oh, Brother Where art Thou. . . Historical, Suspense/Thrillers, SciFi, Bollywood/Hindu (anything from Deepa Mehta), Documentaries, Foreign (anything from Pedro Almodovar), Indie, Action, M. Night Shyamalan's genius.
TELEVISION TIDBITS:
I don't have satellite/cable, so I get dvds from the library. LOST! NOVA, Frontline, Star Trek (Enterprise/DS9 especially), Quantum Leap, Stargate Atlantis, Alias, Angel, X-Files, Jericho, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI/CSI: Miami, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica (old and new), Nip/Tuck, and all those PBS specials such as Regency House Party, Frontier House, Texas Ranch House, Colonial House, etc.
REAL HEROES:
Fire fighters, our troops, aid workers, missionaries, evangelists, teachers. . .all those everyday folks who do life-saving/life-changing work, don't get a billion dollars a year, and generally go completely unnoticed.

Philosophy, tradition, or being worldly & politically correct will not gain anyone the freedom and liberty that our Lord Jesus Christ made available to us. But when we we love our neighbor as our self, then we gain great freedom, as we in our own way serve each other as God has enabled us.

Goal to have the Supreme Court Olmstead decision 6 to 3 Law enforced and have community-based programs for all who qualify for med waiver and consumer directed care which will save the taxpayers approximately 50% and provide opportunities for jobs instead of having disabled institutionalized or a nursing home. Also the George W. Bush presidential Executive Order 13217.Which means it has been designated a nationwide problem! To be Moses for all disabled people to remove the yoke the burden on our disabled back and set disabled people free.Keep Rock 'n rolling on!
