About me: Place42 aka John Clemente , label head, A & R and DJ. Telluric Recordings. Founded in 2005 Telluric has focused on developing a roster of deep soulful tunes & showcasing international best in deep drum and Bass. Place42 has always stuck to his Guns of bringing forward thinking soulful music.
Hailing from NYC and growing up in the early 90's electronic music scene, Place42 experienced an epic time for DJ culture and parties. Early influences of hardcore and breakbeat from the likes of Dj DB and Odi and such a broad spectrum of music from Pink Floyd to Lonnie Liston Smith to early hip-hop lead to the inevitable progression to atmospheric / soulful drum and bass.
Strongly influenced by the like of LTJ Bukem and Goodlooking records,. Place42 began DJing in 1998. In 2006 he gained his first residency at The secret night of Science along DJ Db, more recently holding down a party with the might Mathematics know as Let It Roll at Sullivan Room NYC. Telluric and Good looking have also been involved a yearly event since 2005 with the likes of the immortal LTJ Bukem. Currently playing live various Mcs and vocalist such as meliantiMc, Irene Merring and Jett. And cultivating the Telluric sound, with a full length mix cd set to hit this summer. Look for Place42 this spring and summer spreading the Telluric message in a town near you. lastly as far as the name, "Its not about the Answer, its about the question."
