Placenta was actually formed by two drunk men in the early hours of New Year's Day 2005. The men were Anders Duedal and Martin Gronemann. Despite their fairly inebriated state of mind, they found a strong mutual understanding regarding music and had their first rehearsal together on January 8th 2005 - the very same day that Elvis Presley would have turned 70.
Coming together creatively on such a day was bound to turn out succesful and it did. Within 3 months the two had written, arranged & recorded their first record "Checkpoint" along with a drummer and a bass-player who quickly departed. In late 2005, Brian Sjøquist joined in on the bass and thus became a vital ace.
In spring 2006, the band recorded their second record entitled "Focus", containing the 4 tracks you can hear on this site.
The permanent Placenta drummer joined in summer 2006. It was J.C.Pedersen and he instantly fell into the vibe and musical understanding of the band. At the same time, Steffen Gronemann (Martin's cousin) joined in and added a valuable touch to the band's sound, broadening the musical universe.
Placenta seek to make atmospheric music and therefore they create songs with different layers and textures: with lush vocal-harmonies, catchy guitar-riffs, recognisable keyboard-hooks, all covered up in sophisticated arrangements.

Hej Martin! Hvordan går det med musikken?? Jeg har været jobfri et år nu, ufrivilligt, men lidt musik bliver det jo altid til. Prøvede at starte et band op sidste sommer, men de var for unge og udisciplinerede, så jeg laver bare musik til myspace og en kommende skive. Jeg havde f.eks. Michael Clarup fra danskholdet og Ørntwist nede og lægge lidt spade på. Er selv begyndt at synge, men bruger også kvindestemmer ind i mellem. Jeg hygger mig med det. Er det blevet mere seriøst for jer?? mojni Carsten

MIDI kollektivet DATA har lavet et re-mix af Håbets Alle. Vi lader tracket ligge på siden i ca. 1 uge og tager derefter stillng til om det er noget vi skal sende videre i æteren. Der er meget delte meninger om det. Men er det ikke på tide at keyboard shuffle får en renaissance. Eller hvad? Gi det et lyt.
