ONE ICE COLD NIGHT IN SWEDENS KARLSKOGA A BAND NAMED
PLAGUE ANGEL WAS SPAWNED BY TOBIAS, JÖRGEN AND ROBERT IN
THE FALL/WINTER OF 2005. INITIALLY ANOTHER MEMBER WAS TO BE IN THE BAND BUT HE LEFT EARLY ON. FOR ABOUT A YEAR THE BAND CONSISTED OF THESE THREE. ALL OF WHICH HAD PLAYED TOGETHER IN OTHER BANDS IN DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS BEFORE. TOBIAS PLAYED DRUMS IN BOTH BUTCHERY AND IN STRANGULATION. ROBERT PLAYED BASS IN BUTCHERY AND WAS BRIEFLY GROWLER IN STRANGULATION. JÖRGEN WAS HANDLING THE VOCALS IN AHRIMAN FOR 6 YEARS. DURING THE FOLLOWING YEAR THE BAND SOUGTH AFTER A BASSPLAYER. KENNETH, JÖRGENS BROTHER TOOK UP THE BASS IN MID 2006. NOW THE BAND WAS COMPLETE AND THE WORK TO GET THE FIRST RECORDING DONE WAS UNDERTAKEN.
PLAGUE ANGEL WAS FORMED TO PLAY STRAIGHT FORWARD DEATH METAL AND THIS WOULD SHOW IN THE FIRST RECORDING OF THE BAND. THE 2008 DEMO "RAPED BY LIES" CONSISTS OF FOUR TRACKS OF OLD-SCHOOL DEATH METAL WITH INFLUENSES FROM BOTH EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN METAL. THE DEMO IS AVAILABLE NOW.
