A spectrum of styles and moods carried upon the crisp Strat overtones and forceful vocals, supported by an often punchy and hard driven rythm section. Experimental Alternative Music, a theatre of ideas, and a pride parade of the Abnormal.
Dan and James got together in a musical Project in 2002 and spent some while becoming accustomed to eachother's highly individual styles. When they felt ready to step up a level, they searched out Ross to drum in the outfit which would henceforth become known as Plain Hamish. A repetoire was formed for the sake of levelling off on eachothers wavelength, and subsequently scrapped in favour of working in a new direction. Since, the 3-piece spent time refining their act, performing here and there for feedback and experience. Any long term plans, however, had to be changed in Lieu of Dan's being accepted into BIMM (well done dan!) and how busy that would make him, aside from the fact that he found a place in the ever up-rising hippie-delic troupe, Origami Dionsaur. During Dans time at BIMM, drummer Ross Wolvey is going to spend some time in Jamaica before following up on Higher Education. Subsequently, Plain Hamish has been placed on semi-permanent Hiatus. Given time and experience, who knows what could happen between James (Embarking on a second project under the alias Ben Ried(www.myspace.com/michaelproject), Dan (achieving leaps and bounds of excellence in live performance with OD (www.myspace.com/origamidinosaur)) and Ross (bettering himself un-endingly in the field of Advanced mathematics, Physics and other such smart things), the next time they take up instruments and beat the hell out of them..!
