    TONGAS es un proyecto musical integrado por 7 extraterrestres del planeta Aminoplis, General Tuko (Voz), Ogro (Batería), Gatto (Guitarra), Crepa (Bajo), Quentín (Teclados), Marmota (Saxo) y 7-G (Visuales y FX), los que planean conquistar a los terrícolas con su música..... Esencialmente, TONGAS es una banda de rock experimental influenciada por variados estilos musicales, tales como: Rock, Funk, Ska, Klezmer, Metal, etc. los cuales son mezclados para lograr el sonido lúdico, potente y espacial que tienen hoy en día. .... Conceptualmente, TONGAS tiene una propuesta ecléctica y divertida en su performance. El sarcasmo y las situaciones cotidianas son el eje principal de las composiciones de TONGAS, las cuales te llevan por un entretenido viaje al fondo del subconsciente del humano promedio. El nombre del grupo es tomado del robot símbolo del programa “Pipiripao”, emblemático espacio que marcó a toda una generación en los años 80’s..... Desde su llegada a la tierra, hace ya 9 años, esta banda de extraterrestres ha cosechado logros tales como: Premio SCD a la innovación musical en el festival de Bandas Jóvenes Balmaceda 1215, 1er Lugar en el Festival de Bandas Jóvenes de la Universidad Tecnológica de Chile (ex -Vipro), 3er Lugar en Festival de Bandas Motorokr Band. .... Durante estos años, TONGAS se a presentado en lugares como Estadio Víctor Jara, Rockola, La Batuta, canal Vía X, Salas SCD, El Huevo, Galpón Víctor Jara, Movistar Arena Santiago, etc. presentaciones de donde han nacido los actuales seguidores del tan especial sonido Aminopliano que ellos cultivan, el cual tiene un EP, distribuido digitalmente por Still Alive Records, y disponible en todo el planeta a través de http://www.planetongas.cl/ y http://www.sarecords.net, titulado "Extrañas Criaturas de Aminoplis". .... Actualmente TONGAS se encuentra en el trabajo de promoción de su segundo disco, denominado "Encuentros Cercanos del Peor Tipo" ya editado mundialmente con cual darán el golpe maestro para la gran invasión a la Tierra........ --------------------------------------------------------------------------.... Conceptually, TONGAS offers a fun and eclectic experience within its performance. Sarcasm and every-day situations are the central theme of TONGAS’ compositions, which take you through a fun trip to the core of the average human subconscious. The name of the band is taken from a robot that was the symbol of the emblematic Chilean T.V show “Pipiripao”, which left a mark in a whole generation in the 80’s..... Ever since their arrival to Earth 9 years ago, this band of aliens has obtained great accomplishments such as the SCD Award for musical innovation in the Balmaceda 1215 Young Bands Festival; 1st Place in the Young Bands Festival hosted by the Universidad Tecnológica de Chile (former Vipro); 3rd Place in the Motorokr Band Festival..... Over the years, TONGAS has shared stage with notorious bands such as Sinergia, Chancho en Piedra, Attaque 77, Angel Parra Trío, Los Morton and La Floripondio in places like the Víctor Jara Stadium, Rockola, La Batuta, Vía X, Salas SCD, El Huevo, Galpón Víctor Jara, Movistar Arena Santiago, etc. All these shows gave birth to the followers of the special Aminoplian sound created by the band..... The group has landed two musical productions on Earth:.... EXTRAÑAS CRIATURAS DE AMINOPLIS [STRANGE CREATURES OF AMINOPLIS] (2001)....     TONGAS viajará por última vez los 37 millones de años luz que separa M51 de la Tierra para concretar su misión final en el tercer planeta dando por finalizada la campaña denominada “Encuentros Cercanos del Peor Tipo” y volviendo a su planeta de origen, Aminoplis, para ser desintegrados por Lord Tongas o continuar la dominación universal; ya lo sabes, la continuidad de este comando de extraterrestres se encuentra en peligro y esta, muy probablemente puede ser la última vez que los veas en vivo (para alivio de muchos).
