Are you having trouble dealing with your inner demons? Are you still searching for a deity that really fits your style?? Perhaps I can be of assistance!
Happy is the man who knows the truth, happier still the one with wisdom enough to keep it to himself.
--------------- Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, for the path is narrow. In fact just bump off, and leave me alone.
Be at peace, be at war, where ever you are, just be.
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Drink your tea slowly and reverently,
as if it is the axis
on which the world earth revolves
- slowly, evenly, without
rushing toward the future;
Live the actual moment.
Only this moment is life.

A young man wanting to find truth goes to see a famous guru. 'Master, can you teach me meditation and truth?' he asks. The guru agrees, and the disciple immediately assumes the lotus posture, closing his eyes and breathing rhythmically to show what he knows. The master doesn't say anything but picks up two stones from the ground and starts rubbing them against each other. Hearing the strange noise, the disciple opens his eyes and asks, 'Master, what are you doing?' The guru answers 'I'am rubbing these stones against each other to polish them into a mirror so I can look at myself.' 'The disciple laughs, 'but master, if you don't mind my telling you: you'll never be able to make a mirror of these stones by rubbing them against each other. You can do that forever, and it won't work.' 'Similarly, my friend,' the master says, 'you can sit like that forever, but you'll never be meditating or understanding truth.'
An elderly Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life…
He said to them, 'A fight is going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.
One wolf is evil — he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority,
lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego.
The other is good—he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy,
generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.'
They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, 'Which wolf will win?'
The old Cherokee simply replied: 'The one you feed'.

KNOW THY SELF
He who knows not
and knows he knows not
is simple, teach him
He who knows not
and knows not he knows not
is ignorant, disregard him
He who knows not

He who knows

is asleep, awake him
He who knows

is wise, follow him
All of these reside in you

I ran into myself in a dark hallway once and it scared the dickens out of me! Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again. I enjoy sitting on the back deck on warm summer evenings and watching the full moon rise over the church steeple, I like the smell of fresh coffee brewing before dawn, I like to hike up into the mountains in the morning in time to see the fog laying like a blanket on the valley below. I love the feeling in my stomach when I lay a motorcycle over so deep into a turn that the footpegs spray sparks up from the asphalt, I watch the eagles on the tv but I listen to the radio play by play, I know lots of really bad jokes and will be happy to tell you every one of them.
The Hoatzin has been described as a living relic. more closly related to the dinosaurs than to modern species. Yup! that about sums it up for me.

Yes, we can definitely agree that Dallas sucks! My Falcons almost had the Eagles were they wanted them two weeks ago, but the phantom muff call meant that it wasn't to be. The Eagles are my favorite team in the NFC East though. Thanks again for the add. How'd your sky watching go?

Hi there, Thanks for your comment! Hope you were able to finish the Asimov. Well, I know 730 pages kind of make for a heavy book. Enjoy my novel "The Future Happens Twice" and please let me know what you think.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Here is a joke gift to you from me:
While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table and she didn't miss them until they had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around -- in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man.. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her -- the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, 'While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and the credit card.'
"Gray and grim for four months" isn't fair!!! Your comments at my blog site were nice to read, however. They definitely were in the ballpark of what I had hoped to see commented. You are always fun to read, so write me something else soon! I am in an anticipatory mood. I hope that you and your clan had a fun and yummy Thanksgiving and are getting into "gear" for the Holidaze to come. I am thinking about starting to decorate for Christmas some -- maybe tomorrow. I just back from Thanksgiving in Denver with my daughter. Christmas will be here in New York, but we will return to Maine for Christnas next year we have agreed. It is so beautiful there in the Winter -- and serene. Love, Alice
