"Quite spectacular. They gave us a rollicking show full of swagger and attitude. A band to look out for." - Music-News.com "Not since David Bowie has there been anyone quite so sexually ambiguous in rock." - Olli Tooley, LZToo "Rock angels" - Outline Magazine "Plan Nine pile riff on top of riff whilst lead singer Will Vaughan flits between stoner melancholy to a jack in a box schizophrenic beast. Their music spits in the face of conformity and is all the better for it." - PowPowPow Magazine "Hot shit!" -Sammy James, Mooney Suzuki "A Kate Bush and Zeppelin love child in the making." - Luke Potashnick, Rooster "Local lovelies making a big name" - Radio Broadland
Hailing from the rural north Suffolk town of Beccles, Plan Nine was formed in early 2005 by four restless young men from the local comprehensive.
Having won the hearts of the local children with hits from their self-released EP, Plan Nine's 'Plan Nine', including the smash Tunin' Up (Wiv U), the boys took their defenestrative sound to the cobbled streets of Norwich. Whilst wooing the Wensum folk of this historic burgh they played with such acts as Rooster and Grammatics at venues including the Waterfront and NAC.
On March 17th 2008 Plan Nine's official debut release, controversially titled The Plan Nine EP, was unleashed to the world via the download function of the Interweb to staggeringly mediocre success.
Throughout the rest of the year the boys found themselves climbing the slippery ladder of London (England) gracing venues such as the Barfly and Purple Turtle, and opening to the thousand-strong crowd at the Stone Gods' homecoming in Norfolk.
In February 2009 drummer Dave Jones left the band citing "musical differences". After going dark for a short while, the band returned to the stage with a dramatic new sound and announced that Ben Timewell would be the new drummer.
Plan Nine are currently recording a new record, said to be "the most important record of all time, ever, from Beccles!".

THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welcome To The Batcave’ book, along with this year’s bitcrushed message from the creature in the Batcave Pram. All set in a spooky Bladerunner environment!
So dress to kill … prepare for a thrill & Expect the unexpected!
The Batcave will be open from 10pm till 3am. Tickets £15 available from www.ticketweb.co.uk and Resurrection Records.
