PITCHFORK
After touring her unique live show worldwide both solo and together with artists LCD Sound System, Hot Chip, Peaches and The Knife…
Planningtorock has taken time out to record her new album currently titled “Planet 9”
The record is due to be released on DFA records with a release date to be announced soon.
In between recording her album PTR took a few months off to produce a special one off live show “Black Thumber”(see promo video below) which premiered at the Donau Festival in April 2009 and featured some new tracks giving the audience a special sneak preview of the forthcoming record.
PTR has also collaborated with The Knife to write parts for a new Opera about Darwin which will debut this September in Copenhagen –
and earler this year she performed a special one-off performance together with the Haus Der Kultur Choir in Berlin as part of the Pictoplasma Festival.
News about the new planningtorock album, release dates and more will be announced here soon!
"Part Jarvis Cocker, part Wendy Carlos, its an arresting outsider spectacle, ..Have it All.. is a raunchy synthesis of Bowie, Bolan and Joplin"
TANK magazine
"Neo-vaudevillian kaleidoscope of a record, its vigorous and defiant, littered with off kilter touches"
WIRE magazine
"I..m getting a record that is super fucking weird but also
satisfyingly mind-blowing."
VICE magazine
"Music that makes you think; a riot of originality that not only celebrates difference and eccentricity but which positively embraces it!"
DJ magazine
"You have to imagine a symphony orchestra playing electronic violas under psychedelic neon lights. Have it All is an auditory wonderland of xylophones, strings, and techno beats accompanied by creepy fairy chants" NYLON magazine
"Janine Rostron..s musical background gleams through her new album, Have it all not just mashed up but perfectly arranged"
Electronicbeat
"Have It all is unique and sounds like nothing else that..s come out this year.....her vocals are pure, expressive, and souful"
"Rostron's Janis Joplin-like runs are able to cover the distance between melody and primal scream, leaving her free to exploit her entire expressive range"
"Rostron invites us to become a part of her alienation, and injects the experience with a sense of humor. It repulses as it beckons; the more you ignore her, the closer she gets"

You Me And Heidi am Samstag, 17.10. im Goethebunker in Essen
Am 17. Oktober kommt hoher Besuch in den Goethebunker. Bei You Me And Heidi steht - richtig - Heidi vom Berliner Label Get Physical an den Plattentellern.
