Recent Press:
"The result (in 'No Shame') is lean, but still sumptuous, concise in its emotional and musical coding but it still stretches on: arpeggiated guitars match up to a dark, pulsing bass beat, giving ‘No Shame’ an engaging sense of propulsion." - Lawson Fletcher, Mess and Noise
"The word is spreading around triple j about this band. And on the strength of this track (Empire Falls), for good reason. Touches of Arcade Fire, Bowie and a lovely little xylophone." - Richard Kingsmill, Triple J
"Simply, this song (Empire Falls) is a celebration. It rumbles, twinkles, and stomps; there's a lot going on but you don't notice it, you're too busy enjoying the ride! And it WILL have you singing along...."falling, falling, falling...something, something, furthest corner of the former empire..." Great stuff!" - Caz Tran, Triple J
"It's a thrilling beginning for these guys - full of creative savvy and hopeful hearts - and I wish there were more bands in the country that sounded so sincere." - Beat Magazine
"...a sound as diverse and inventive as sextet Plastic Palace Alice is the type that cuts through hype and hyperbole and makes people listen." - Wireless Bollinger
"Plastic Palace Alice is set to modestly sneak up behind us and let out an eye opening "boo!". Reflecting a diverse number of influences, their music glistens and booms its way into your heart. The band's latest single Empire Falls would turn Rome's bloody topple into a cascading flow of refreshing bloom...I can't wait for the album." - The Sandwich Club

Plastic Palace Alice have now released their second single off their upcoming sophomore album: "Carrion". We have recently finished the main part of our recording for the new album, and getting ready to release it in 2010. At the moment we're touring, thanks to a government grant, so we're working on our tans as much as possible.
"...one of the country's 'bands to watch'..." - Clem Bastow

It’s unleashed on Thursday 29th of October at Bar Open on Brunswick St. It’s Bowie on steroids; it’s Marquis de Sade and Andy Warhol screaming at the moon through a home-made vocoder. The Lollyshop is open for business ! It’s going to be a huge night filled with bubble machines, strobes, psychedelic video projections and cautionary tales to tell your grandchildren. It will also feature live performances from those vixens of burlesque “the Venus Man Traps”. Copies of Vultures of Venus’s LP can be scoped up for a low $10 on the night. Yee-Har space cadets !
