Fortaleza is a big city at Brazilian northeast. Famous for its beaches, the mood of its people and the sun that shines in the sky for the whole year, attracts legions of tourists from everywhere, everyday. But the city has another face. A dark, sick, passionate, mercyless face.
Plastique Noir has born and grows up there , on that hopeless and hostile environment. In a small room localized at one of the most violent districts named as a 2nd World War battle, rounded by chimneys that still release in the air toxics from a broken industrial complex, four young pals meet since 2005 to generate post-punk music also influenced by darkwave, synthpop, industrial, indie and punk. In the badmates' bag, pop music from the last decades, but with attention-paying to contemporary stuff. Plastique Noir uses nostalgia as a tool and urban decadence as inspiration, getting as ultimate subject the existencial labirynth inside each one of us at this beginning of millennium, when the utopic ideals are dead and the chaos distorts the minimal remaining sense of reality. It's not about engaged critics, [even since is unavoidable] but dirty poetry, that tells stories whose main characters are the musicians plus all that rounds and surrounds them. We talk about the empty afterhours, the prostitutes and transvestites at the sea-side walking , the addicted hedonism, the ruins of the old town, the lost lovers in pubs and streets corners , the bodies piled in the morgue, the quotidian neurosis suffocated by the carbonic monoxide, the return to the past searching for any possible future, the madness symbols of folklore and pop culture that offer a scape, an alternative for a fading reality.
Plastique Noir [in french, “black plastic”] is the bag that wraps corpses in morgues. It's eletro-rock, darky but dancing, wraps bodies too, making them dance hypnotized. In less than three years, the band formula has conquered national repercussion, with shows in many parts of the country as Brasília, Salvador, Paraíba, Natal, Recife, Teresina, São Paulo and Minas Gerais; interviews for famous magazines as BIZZ and ELEGY IBERICA [Portugal] and other important publications, journals, radios and TV shows from all over Brazil; top number 1 download group in Fiber Online, the biggest Latin America portal of e-music [more than 100,000 downloads/streaming]; elected as the second best Brazilian band in its genre by Brazilian Alternative Charts [BAC], the official parade of gothic and e-music; opening gigs for band like Montage, Ludov and The Cruxshadows [USA].
Plastique Noir has grown up very much on international level too, since has been the only brazilian band invited for the 2007 edition of the world's biggest gothic festival, Wave Gotik Treffen, in Leipzig [Germany]. It has also been interviewed by the Portuguese magazine Elegy Iberica, the Mexican magazine Dark and the American sites Grave Concerns and Midnight Calling; receveid nice comments by the famous English researcher and criticizer Mick Mercer's e-magazine and brand new book [Music To Die For] which maps all the goth world music; and its hit songs has been played on German radios Ultra Dark Radio and Schwarzbrot, Bouquet of Dreams [Portugal] and Zeplins Club [South Africa], as well another countries like France, Belgium, Peru, Italy, USA and Chile.
The released records so far, Offering [2006] and Urban Requiems [2006/2007], this last one released again by the Italian label Ekleipsi Records and the German label AFMusic , are sold out. Just after the EPs Those Who Walk By The Night - The Remixes [co-produced by the great EBM Brazilian project Synthetik Form] and The Early Grave [b-sides and rarities], Plastique Noir is promoting its first full-length official album - Dead Pop [Pisces, 2008/2009] on tour.

A cidade de Fortaleza fica no Nordeste do Brasil. Famosa por suas belas praias, pela alegria de seus habitantes e pelo sol que brilha o ano inteiro, atrai legiões de turistas de todo o mundo durante o ano. Mas a cidade tem uma outra face. Uma face escura, doente, apaixonada, impiedosa.
Plastique Noir nasceu e cresce ali, nesse meio desolado e hostil. Numa pequena sala situada no coração de uma violenta área batizada com nome de batalha da Segunda Guerra, cercados por chaminés que despejam no céu cinza os tóxicos de um complexo industrial falido, quatro jovens se reúnem desde 2005 para gerar música pós-punk com influências darkwave, synthpop, industrial, indie e punk. Trazendo na bagagem o pop das últimas décadas, mas atentos à contemporaneidade, usam a nostalgia como ferramenta e a decadência urbana como inspiração, culminando no labirinto existencial dentro de cada um de nós neste início de milênio, quando as utopias morreram e o caos embaça um senso residual mínimo de realidade. Não se trata de crítica engajada [embora esta seja inevitável], mas de poesia suja, que conta histórias cujos personagens centrais são os próprios integrantes mais tudo aquilo que os cerca. Falamos das madrugadas desertas, das prostitutas e travestis no calçadão à beira-mar, do hedonismo viciado, das ruínas da cidade velha, dos amores marginais perdidos nas esquinas e bares, dos corpos amontoados no necrotério, da neurose cotidiana sufocada pelo monóxido de carbono, do retorno ao passado em busca de um futuro possível qualquer, dos símbolos de loucura do folclore e do pop que oferecem uma fuga, um desvio.
Plastique Noir [em francês, “plástico negro”] é o saco que embala cadáveres. Seu eletro-rock, soturno porém dançante, também envolve corpos, impelindo-os à dança hipnotizada. Em menos de dois anos, a fórmula já conquistou ampla repercussão nacional, com shows em algumas partes do país, como São Paulo, Brasília, Minas Gerais, Salvador, Recife, Teresina, Paraíba e Natal; entrevistas para revistas como a Bizz e outras publicações, jornais, rádios, TVs e sites de todo o Brasil; inclusão na coletânea “Retratos Subterrâneos” da revista Rock Hard/Valhalla, que reúne o melhor do gótico nacional; top 1 de downloads no renomado portal brasileiro de música eletrônica Fiber Online [quase 60 mil downloads e streamings]; eleita a segunda melhor banda brasileira em seu gênero pelo Brazilian Alternative Charts, a parada oficial de música gótica e eletrônica, que envolve críticos, músicos e produtores; escalação para os festivais nacionais independentes Ponto.CE, DoSol, Porto Musical e WoodGothic; e convites para abertura de shows de nomes expressivos como Montage, Ludov, Engenheiros do Hawaii e The Cruxshadows [EUA].
A banda também tem crescido muito no âmbito internacional, tendo sido a única banda brasileira convidada para a edição de 2007 do maior festival gótico do mundo, Wave Gotik Treffen, em Leipzig [Alemanha].
