PLATHNER'S ELEVEN
"Plathner's Eleven" is a musical present of "Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover" to all music lovers. In every concert of this series eleven talented, charismatic and joyful musicians meet on the stage to share their best emotions, good mood and endless love to music with the audience. The stage is hosted by Gintaras Janusevicius, concert pianist, who is also the artistic director of "Plathner's Eleven". Everytime different people, different topic, different composers, everytime the same highest level and natural contact with people - that is the idea of this project.
The name of the series is combined from "Kammermusiksaal an der Plathnerstraße", a nice and warm hall, where no actuall border between the audience and musicians is felt, and, of course, the "Oceans Eleven", one of the greatest hits of 60's, with such talent-, success- and charisma- icons, as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis jr., who serve as inspirations to many artists of our time all over the world. The format of the concert is far from traditional "play-clap-go home" style, it's more like a show, combining performances of the future stars, music education and entertainment. Four seasons, called "The Seasons", "True Faces", "Annee de Pelegrinage" and "Let's Make a Concert" were highly successful and "Season No.5", filled with musical stars from all over the world is expected to be the greatest season so far.
In september 2009 composers from all over the world were called for the first international "Plathner's Eleven Composers Competition". Since then 3 editions, won by Matteo Bertolina, Grigory Zaytsev and Octavio Vazquez respectively, were organized. Other prizewinners included Gordon Williamson, Natalie Williams, Jean Ahn, CJ Darnieder, Vera Zaytseva, Alexandra Filonenko, Shaul Bustan and Tadas Umbrasas.
Plathner's Eleven is proud to present only the most respected students of Hanover, winners of numerous competitions, performing all over the world. This is great opportunity to experience music stars of tomorrow.
