While growing up in Brooklyn, J-Blax had a secret. As far as his vigilant Jehovah's Witness mother and all of his teachers knew, the honor roll student wanted to be a doctor. But before J- BlaX hit puberty, he started putting down rhymes and rapping them for his friends out in the school yard for fun. And even though over the next few years he started writing and rapping a lot more, he kept his hobby hidden, afraid that his new chosen profession would let down his family. By the time he reached college level, he couldn't hide it any longer. It wasn't just "J" who knew he was good; all his friends and family new it too. He could bury his talent no longer. It was time to confess. Now "J" who's grown into a professional hip hop artist who call himself J-BlaX (wit an X), is rapping to a national audience. In early 2007,C.E.O Daddy Bigg$ signed the 19 year old to a million dollar recording and management contract with New Jersey based Platinum Camp Productions and plans to spend the remainder of the year touring the East Coast and Los Angeles. He's also releasing his first album, Platinum Camp Volume One. The record is collaboration with Sanchez and his old friend Xyle. J-Blax is attacking the nation's music scene with a southern-inspired genre of rap. He credits Memphis' Three 6 Mafia for regionally popularizing this form of hip-hop that draws from the deep well of southern foot music but he feels its influence hasn't yet reached the northern states. J-BlaX aims to change that. he's gotten radio play, live gigs and press all over U.S ,Jamaica were he love so much(not to mention England and the Caribbean),Which gives him the chance to put out modern southern-style beats and lyrics to a larger audience. His music is versatile, ranging from a buzzed-about "That's How We Rollin" "Dip it Low Lil Mama" to a rebel song titled "Who gives a F-About the Law." He cites---as other influences. J-BlaX is no stranger to celebrity. He ghost writes lyrics for the U .S hottest rap artists (his contracts keep him from sharing any names) and admiration from musicians and producers like Doc Dre his goal to "in the next two to three years get like a Jay-Z Bigger." But before he achieves that level of international stardom, "J" wants to take singing lessons from Sanchez, release an R&B album, Start in movies, and complete his initial goal of becoming a Doctor.
