Philosophy and music are two keywords we have to mention speaking about such person, as Dj Platon, one of the very first serious Odessa Dj’s and, certainly, one of the best Odessa Dj’s. He has gone through sated enough and twisting way to become the person he is now. The beginning of this way is dated February, 2nd, 1981. It was like parents of the child - Alexander and Svetlana had a presentiment that their son is waited by unusual and interesting destiny and gave him an unusual name – Platon. The first musical hobbies, the first school parties, and the first experience with sound equipment – all this has really carried Platon away in young years and gradually he was more and more dipped into the new and unexplored world of a night club life and electronic music.
Together with an unusual name Platon managed to absorb the philosophical dialectic approach to music, to perception of it; a great number of different music styles he mastered testifies about this, after all he began with such styles, as garage and jungle in far 1996. Then there were first clubs in which all began and actually the first residency in "Pharaoh" club. Then he gets more taken by progressive house and techno. For all the Dj career he used such types of electronic music in his sets like tech-house, deep-house, tech-trance and, certainly, progressive, in a consequence his musical preferences fluctuated between electro, progressive and techno, at present Platon personifies himself first of all with techno and plays techno, minimal techno at clubs, and deep-techno, deep-house on pre-party/afterhours with tech-house harmoniously present at both types.
Platon continues his club career, combining it with the study; debut on radio within the limits of the project «Auto Mix» on Auto FM is the following stage in his biography. The next period in Platon's life may be called critical: it is an unforgettable "Bikini" project on Radio-Fil – legendary Odessa radio station, and subsequently Platon creates one of the most significant labels in Ukraine – Ton Records. His first compilation Plato – Outlaw has been released on the label (as well as The Philosophy of Sound and Winter Began).
As we can see, Platon's activity covers a huge musical spectrum, besides already specified radio projects, in 2007 his new «TonRec Radioshow» appears on Kiss FM where he almost completely concentrates his sound on techno. Plato has also become the unforgettable guest on British Ministry of Sound Radio, as well as on world famous Proton Radio in the project of his old German friend D-nox - «D-Nox in Demand».
In the same 2002 Platon has been invited to Kazantip for the first time and he still regularly plays there. Platon has also took part in such festivals like DJ'S Session (Odessa, 2001), Tochka Sborki (Odessa, 2003), World DJ Day (Odessa, 2003).
He is very different from other Dj’s because of his aspiration to consider and to present such phenomenon as electronic music from the various aspects, trying to express the philosophy of his sound in this. This period 2002-2004 was, certainly, very successful for Platon, he presented his unusual sound to everybody from city to city, from club to club. According to Platon, the high points of a night life for him passed in night club “Studio 21” – that was also the name of his next radio project on radio station Star FM. These were really fine times - Platon presented his philosophy of sound at the turntables to all admirers of electronic music; his positions on the Ukrainian dancing scene thereby became stronger, and Studio 21 radio show has received «the Best informative radio program» award.
By the way, in 2004 Plato v3.0 was the only DJ in Ukraine officially representing Stanton and Native Instruments (Traktor) production, then he gave his preference to CD and vinyl records, and in 2009 he comes back again to the digital format with his new project Plato Pro using Native Instruments product - Traktor Pro, performing in a 4 Decks format.
During 2004 - 2006 within the limits of Flying Dutchman and FUTURAevent projects Platon appeared on one scene with many known European Dj’s for the first time, such as Cristopher Lawrence, Flash Brothers, Andy Jarrod, Fred Numf, Andy Redanka and others.
In a consequence he becomes the organizer of series of parties called «TonRec Events» presenting the large quantity of well-known guests from every corner of the globe with which Plato V 3.0 has shared the decks and turntables, they are Thomas Shumacher, Oliver Koletzki, Quivver, Mason, Echomen, D-Nox and Beckers, Boris Brejcha, Dusty Kid, Eelke Kleijn, Format: B, Tom Clark, Pig and Dan, Kanio, it is also necessary to add such musicians as John Digweed, Chris Liebing, Zoo Brazil, Sebastian Leger, Pascal FEOS, Marco V, James Zabiela to the given list as Platon has also shared the decks and turntables with them within the limits of other various projects such as Bassline Project. Platon's booking-agency - Maestro Bookings is the exclusive booking-partner of TonRec Events parties in various clubs of Ukraine.
A truly great achievement of Plato V3.0 is that he became «the Best Dj of Odessa» within the limits of Jeans DJ Parade and MTC DJ Parade, as a whole, for all his rich career Platon has had time to present unforgettable minutes to visitors of such known and legendary clubs, as: Opium, Patipa, Saxon, Sound Planet, Captain Morgan, Chicago, Cosmo, Faktura, Open Air Most and others. He also worked as the resident of such clubs as Сtudio21, Island, Club 23, Skazka, Euro Party Club, Bounty and Bounty Beach Club.
Soon – the next rotary mark in the history of Plato - UA Digital, which is a huge, promptly developing structure which united Ton records and a set of other labels; and has been engaged in releasing and distribution of digital audio releases worldwide and soon became the Ton records sublabel. UA Digital and Ton records releases can be found in such serious musical online shops, as iTunes, Beatport, MSN Music, etc. Today all projects of Plato, including radio-projects and TonRec Events are united under one name - Infra Music.
Platon has made a huge contribution to electronic music development in the city of Odessa. He took part in the most outstanding parties, and was the organizer of many of them, he worked with a large quantity of the most different Dj’s, both from Europe, and from Ukraine; his Ton Records label has already discovered and continues to discover new talents in music worldwide, every year brings absolutely new ideas and projects – all this makes the philosophy of Plato – not to stop, move, aspire to new, developing qualitatively. At present Plato continues to follow his philosophy and begins working on his own material in his home studio where he is set to spend the most part of 2009.
