About me:

Luka Dekleva works as a Photographer, Performer and video artist. After finishing he’s MA studies at FAMU in Prague he began exploring the unpredictability of the digital moving image. He was drawn in by the inherent noise that is inevitably a constant follower of every new technological development. Noise as a side product of the basic signal carriers for audio/visual information presents new realms for systematic abuse and use of improbabilities in auto generative art. With a conscious concern for the importance of visual output and used technology. A temporary syntax emerges that is raw in its nature but formal in its aesthetics. A mathematical loop hole, an endless process where every new result is at the same time a source of further calculations. Instability is a source and technology becomes involved as a operator in the creative process. The aesthetics of Lukas work have been described as both minimalist and elegant, experimental and at the same time consistent.Various videos on this page show collaborative works, where audio and video were using each other. Variables of both processes were exposed to data generated by basic properties of sound and moving image. All videos are edits of live performances.

My work was shown at the following places: "95'05 Slovene Art 1995-2005, Territories, Identities, Networks" Gallery of Modern Arts, Ljubljana 2005, "25 PEACES", "euroPART", Austria 2006. Device Art Zagreb, Belgrade and at the Blasthaus Gallery in San Francisco 2006. NIME08 in Genova, Netmage08 in Bologna with the "FeedForward Cinema" performance,Ars Electronica 08 at the "Ecology of  techno mind" exhibition.
