After serving as a trial attorney in two prominent litigation firms, I established Player Entertainment Law in 2000, for the express purpose of providing legal representation, business consultation, and career guidance to musicians, producers, actors, writers, models, and other “players” in the entertainment industry in all aspects of their professional careers.
I am active in the Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar, and I am a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy® Awards), The Florida Bar, the Seminole County Bar Association, and the Florida Justice Association.
I have lectured at continuing legal education seminars for the Florida Justice Association, and have been a panelist on the Florida Music Festival’s forum on legal issues in the music business. I also regularly guest-lecture on entertainment law at Barry Law School and at Full Sail University, and have served as a panelist/ judge for the Full Sail University Bachelor of Entertainment Business degree candidates final “capstone” presentations.
I have had the honor of being recognized by my peers as the number one entertainment attorney in Central Florida for the Orlando Business Journal's 2006 & 2007 Annual "Best of the Bar" which recognizes attorneys at the top of their areas of practice. I am also honored to have been chosen by my peers as one of Florida Trend magazine's Florida Legal Elite for 2009.
I also play bass guitar and did so professionally for many years. My experiences as a professional musician have given me considerable insight into the music business and an appreciation of the industry from the musician’s perspective.
Who I'd like to meet: Cool people and talented, professional, dedicated bands and musicians who make original music that moves me in one way or another. Preferably those who are true to their art and take it seriously, but who don’t take themselves too seriously, and who are REAL, down to earth, realistic, have personality and a sense of humor, don’t suffer from “LSD” (lead singer disorder), and who truly love making music and do so for the right reasons.
