PLËYAD will present their 1st album ECLIPSE on the 23rd November 2007. It’s been 4 years since the band was formed in Rennes (department of Brittany, in the west of France).
Relying on their 1st 4-track EP, released in 2004, the band performs on stage in Brittany (in the concert halls l’Antipode, le Liberté, la Cité, l’Omnibus in Rennes and Saint-Malo…), in Paris (la Flèche d’Or, la Comédia,…), in Lyon (Barge Loupika) and books festivals (la Fête de l’Humanité, les Vieilles Charrues, Feria Festival, Art et Public,…).
From the stage, the band draws a fresh energy and polishes up a dozen tracks. On ECLIPSE, the diversity of instruments and sound effects is given pride of place: percussions, kalimba, glockenspiels are blending together into pop, rock and electro-folk melodies.
The singing, with lyrics in either English or French, sometimes abstract, in the style of Sigur Ros or Radiohead, intensifies the mystery of a Shakespearean universe created on stage by the four musicians and now caught on their first album.
From a midsummer dream to a sometimes more tormented reflection, the words are emphasized during live shows by Alex's imagery subtly projected in the background.

PLËYAD a proposé son 1er album ECLIPSE le 23 novembre 2007. 4 années se sont écoulées depuis la naissance de la formation. S’appuyant sur un premier maxi, paru en 2004, le groupe évolue sur scène, en Bretagne (l’Antipode, le Liberté, la Cité, l’Omnibus…), à Paris (la Flèche d’Or, la Comédia,…), à Lyon (Péniche Loupika) et sur quelques festivals (la Fête de l’Humanité, les Vieilles Charrues, Feria Festival, Art et Public, …).
De la scène, le groupe puise une énergie nouvelle, peaufine une douzaine de titres. ECLIPSE laisse la part belle aux rencontres : percussions, kalimba, glockenspiels viennent nourrir des mélodies pop, rock et électro-folk.
Le chant, tantôt en anglais tantôt en français parfois abstrait, à la manière d’un Sigur Ros, renforce le mystère d’un univers shakespearien que les quatre musiciens installent sur scène et aujourd’hui sur disque. Du songe d’une nuit d’été à une réflexion parfois plus tourmentée les mots sont portés en live par l’imagerie d’Alex projetée en filigrane.
