About me: We Are A Social Music Community & Marketplace for Independent Musicians and their Fans.
PLUGOLA(www.plugo.la) began as an idea being bounced around between two guys, Rob Miller & Erik Peterson, hanging-out at a dog park, in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. The concept was simple; help independent musicians into the 21st century by giving them the tools and the platform to connect with their fans and distribute their music digitally--online.However, as we all know, a musician will not go very far without dedicated music fans. So we devised a way for music fans to be just as interactive as our music artists, while earning a commission for their participation.
There was a time not too long ago when struggling musicians would go from record store to record store, begging the store manager to carry their demo tape on consignment with the hopes that one of your fans would find it and buy it. We wanted to bring a similar concept online; except we give you the tools and technology to promote and operate your own mp3/video store...and you do not have to beg us. Independent artists have complete control over their music and their web presence, and music fans will know exactly where to find your music now.
Since July of 2007, we have been developing an online community strictly for independent musicians and music fans. You're probably thinking, "Been there. Done that." But PLUGOLA is different. Besides good indie music, our biggest focus is 'community', and with community, that means that our members(you) are in control. Best of all, everyone gets compensated for their participation, if they choose.
We got tired of hearing about the state of the music industry, while struggling indie musicians and music fans are the ones who suffer. The battle between major record companies, national/international acts and online music web sites; about whom gets paid for what, is ridiculous. We decided to develop a system where the artist has full control over how his or her music is distributed to the public, without any contracts or transferring of ownership rights. We also wanted to give music fans a place where their opinion and tastes matter. PLUGOLA is exactly this.
You really need to witness our music community for yourself to get the full effects of what PLUGOLA can do, and what it can do for you. Whether your an amateur or professional musician, or you just love original music, PLUGO.LA has something for you.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
