Over the past few years, Plunket has grown up before the eyes of fans and friends alike. Since the release of their debut full-length album, “All We’ve Got Is This,” Plunket has worked itself into the conversation of stable Chicago bands. Their first single, Baby Steps, earned them radio play on Chicago’s number one rock radio station, Q101, as well as the Chicago area’s most prominent college radio station, WONC 89.1, supplemented by multiple appearances on the well-respected international internet radio station, Fearless Radio.
After a full national tour and nearly two years of extensive regional traveling, Plunket decided to come back to the basics of home to write for their next full-length album. They cut ties with anybody they had been working with in the industry and decided to depend only on themselves while writing. No producers, no manager, no agent, nobody but the five guys who will play the songs on stages across the world over the next couple of years. The process has been an exercise in honesty and trust between the five members of the band, but that’s exactly how it was designed.
“I feel like we finally have everyone in the band who is supposed to be in the band.” Chris Samsa, singer and guitarist explained in a recent interview with Fearless Radio. He went on to explain how relatively quick changes in members have finally fully stabilized and that the process of getting everyone onto the same page is sometimes not an easy one, but that the battles are worth fighting for the end product to be the absolute best that it can be, leaving all five members of the band fully satisfied musically while maintaining their pop sensibility.
While writing, Plunket hasn’t forgotten how to put on a live show or keep in touch with fans. They recently successfully headlined one of Chicago’s most storied venues, The Metro. A few weeks later they gave their hometown summer festival a breath of fresh air from the 80’s rock cover bands to bring some original music to a sea of hundreds of people who were curious what their local boys can do. They continue to play regionally while finishing up the writing process for their next album, which they plan on finishing up within the next couple of months. Although there may be no national or international touring plans set in stone for Plunket, they still make it a point to make the connections they can with fans across the world, posting frequent video updates and personally replying to every MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, or e-mail message that they receive, no matter what, hoping that this new music will open up the doors to get out to their ever-growing fan base once again.

Oh man, your a great friend for doing that tom. How was your sleep on the airport floor? That had to be uncomfortable. They should have rooms where people can rest if their plane is late! I am scared to death to go on planes, I don't think that I could ever sleep on one! I hope you get home safely and have a good sleep!

but its been pretty good so far.. except for last night.. i was in the counseling place at school flipping out on them for 2 hours because they keep fucking up my classes and everything.. i was like in tears by the time i was done with it.. it blew big time.. haha
aweeee tom that sucks, snow are you kidding me!? thats horrible!!!i hope your wait at the airport isn't anylonger then it has to be. or has already been i just got done writing my english exam and actually just got my paper handed back to me and with having to write underpresseer and going into the final not knowing what i was going to have to write about i got a C and it was a good C tho in the middle kinda high so i'm happy about that i have one more final to go then i'm done school for the winter until spring rolls around i hope you have a wonderfulll dayyyyy!!!

This week is going well! No college for me from Wednesday to Friday because the Lower Sixth have to do a money management thing. Upper Sixth don't have to go in, wheyyyy! Friday night I'm going to a gig, which should be really good!

wow, you're so busy... i wish i had a life! i have absolutely no friday plans, i'm going to get my hair cut but otherwise i'm doing like nothing... probably coming home and cleaning. :/ i'm going all night bowling tomorrow night (well, technically early sunday morning) though so that's gonna be lots of fun. this comment would be longer and more detailed but I have to go, my appointment is at 4:30 and it is now quarter after four. awe yeah it will come soon enought but its exciting none the less. and yaeh i thought about everything over a lot and we have mutal feelings about everything so i don't think it will be anytime soon. which is good for both of us! it certainly does look amazing outside but i have to work at 4 so it pretty much messes me whole day up! but thats alright i'm just glad we can shut the heat off and open the doors again!!! i'm not ready for it to be cold!!i hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
You know, I've thought of that, too, but then I realized that if we had wednesdays off, it'd be nice to have a day to sleep in, but then it'd be like the weekend was over already. It'd be kinda bittersweet. I really want to go to the movies. Maybe I'll try and go tomorrow... I love how you keep on insulting drivers in the US, haha! You're the exception to your rule, surely? =P I need to take my theory before the practical exam, but I haven't really got the time or motivation for it at the moment because of college! But if I'm doing a mock test soon, my guess is that my driver instructor thinks I'm nearly ready!

aweee well i hope not that much is wrong with the car! well thats really exciting that you guys can hit the studio! i can't wait for your new stuff i mean listen to the old stuff its amazing:) i don't have school wednesdays anyways so its not really a break for me but no school or work tonight so that is kinda nice because sunday night the oven tryed to kiss my arm so now i have a burn which isn't to lovely to look at but i'm hoping it will go away soon. yeah things are going good now with the bf at least the other day he kept talking about marrage and rings and kids and stuff and i was like uhhh but i thought about it and maybe in time, at first i thought it was scary but not now because even if i have a ring i can make the date wayyyy far away and im not having kids until i'm married so i guess it will all work out haha. but as for my mom its a fight everyday still she never has anything nice to say and it drives me nuts!! but i'm veryyy veryy happy about the news you shared!!! i can't wait for you guys to record and give the world a taste of the new plunket it will be amazing as always have a wonderful dayyyyy:)

Just got back from my first driving lesson in the dark! Apparently I did well, so I'm happy! And I have a mock test in 2 weeks, which is pretty terrifying, but I'll do my best! Still need to get my theory test done, but with all the homework I get, the last thing I want to do is more work... =O
I know, right? 60 degrees in the middle of November.. It's nuts. But hey, I'd rather it be 60 degrees than 30 degrees, any day. And yeah, i dunno how long Paranormal Activity will be in theaters, but I'm sure you can catch it. If only theaters everywhere had 5 dollar movie Tuesdays like the one up here does... Except that the popcorn and everything is still really expensive. 4.25 for a medium... seriously? I'm glad I don't eat movie theater popcorn!
