Over the past few years, Plunket has grown up before the eyes of fans and friends alike. Since the release of their debut full-length album, “All We’ve Got Is This,” Plunket has worked itself into the conversation of stable Chicago bands. Their first single, Baby Steps, earned them radio play on Chicago’s number one rock radio station, Q101, as well as the Chicago area’s most prominent college radio station, WONC 89.1, supplemented by multiple appearances on the well-respected international internet radio station, Fearless Radio.
After a full national tour and nearly two years of extensive regional traveling, Plunket decided to come back to the basics of home to write for their next full-length album. They cut ties with anybody they had been working with in the industry and decided to depend only on themselves while writing. No producers, no manager, no agent, nobody but the five guys who will play the songs on stages across the world over the next couple of years. The process has been an exercise in honesty and trust between the five members of the band, but that’s exactly how it was designed.
“I feel like we finally have everyone in the band who is supposed to be in the band.” Chris Samsa, singer and guitarist explained in a recent interview with Fearless Radio. He went on to explain how relatively quick changes in members have finally fully stabilized and that the process of getting everyone onto the same page is sometimes not an easy one, but that the battles are worth fighting for the end product to be the absolute best that it can be, leaving all five members of the band fully satisfied musically while maintaining their pop sensibility.
While writing, Plunket hasn’t forgotten how to put on a live show or keep in touch with fans. They recently successfully headlined one of Chicago’s most storied venues, The Metro. A few weeks later they gave their hometown summer festival a breath of fresh air from the 80’s rock cover bands to bring some original music to a sea of hundreds of people who were curious what their local boys can do. They continue to play regionally while finishing up the writing process for their next album, which they plan on finishing up within the next couple of months. Although there may be no national or international touring plans set in stone for Plunket, they still make it a point to make the connections they can with fans across the world, posting frequent video updates and personally replying to every MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, or e-mail message that they receive, no matter what, hoping that this new music will open up the doors to get out to their ever-growing fan base once again.

haha yeah i mean i was pretty stoked to hear that out of 95 ppl i made the top 12:) and yeahhnoow i have acting classes every tuesday from 7-9 starting the first tuesday of august and an orientation on the 30th of july and in the classes we learn modeling acting, reading scripts, commercial techniques, directorslang, makeup, confidence, skin care like a million things all the way until the end of december! and within this 5 months, eevery month im guaranteed at least audition! sooo if not more! and its anything from a commercial to a short film to a movie! my first auition is on aug 29th with a top prodicer from L.A coming in and he works on lieke disney, mtv, nick, a lot of things sooo im nervous soo i hav to prepare!:)
and ohh and show is tonight actually at the tiv, are any of u guys goinn tn?
Haha, some of my friends were talking about seeing Bruno. I dunno if I'd like it or not but if my friends wanna go, I might as well go with them. The harry potter movies really are good... You don't have to be a harry potter nerd to like them. I heard the same thing about the Star Trek movie though, but I still refused to see it, haha.
Yeah, i've got a lot to do today but I really don't feel like doing any of it. But I guess I have no choice!
haha yea.. i'll be like the incredible hulk and rip up the roads.. and i'll go steal some bricks.. hahaha =] but how great would that be if i put in those roads? hahah
but omg.. go look at all the folders of my pictures that have new pictures in them.. and look at emmm.. their from warped yesterday and i got to meet wil from aiden!!! =]

haha of coursee! well yeahh im really excited to hear things are coming along well with some new music! im excited to say that i just went to an acting audition last night and out of 95 ppl that auditioned last night only 12 made call backs and i was one of the 12:) and i just got back from the second interview/sudition tonight and they said they liked me and asked me to sign with them and i did!:) i cant wait! sooo yeah i cant wait to see u guys soon! are any of u guys goinn to the footlight frenzy show tomorrow? i might be going sooo hopefully ill see some of u guys there:)
well, i'm going to see the new harry potter movie on monday... and my friend and i are going to go see orphan when it comes out, probably. I watched like 5 minutes of 30 days of night and stopped because it was really stupid. other than that I really haven't been able to get to the movies all that much. i dunno how much you're into harry potter but I'll let you know how the movie is anyway! :D
i pretty much just got home, breaking the 10:00 curfew because i was at my other house with my friend michael, and i'm pretty sure my new neighbor over there thinks i was having some crazy adult-free slumber party with him haha. but whatever! hope the weather isn't as muggy as it is here. it's awfully humid.

well, i'm quite obviously not a traveling musician so i don't really have the need for fancy music recording programs and stuff. but hey, it's cool, we can agree to disagree when it comes to macs. :D
theres like one hill right like if your going out of milford.. but then once your at the top of that hill.. you hit more hills and curvy roads.. but theres no brick roads though =[ i think we need some of them though.. it would go well with it.. we have brick buildings though and a lot of old looking buildings.. hahah =]
haha yeahh i know that would DEFINITLY be the dream come true for u guys to have ur name on a ticket like that! and yeahh i know u guys dont do much in missouri thats why id be sick to see u guys out there doinn another thing at a mall like i mentioned but yeahh definitly have to be money smart! but yeeahh i knew u guys werent gonna be able to do it anytime soon, ill probably be going down there over spring break next year so have something than!!:) and of course i am always thinking about u guys! i truly love all of u guys and i cant wait to see u again:)
I dunno, I kinda think macs are a waste of money. like.. a ton of people get them just because they look nice. they run completely different than a pc and i think apple is the biggest corporation of scammers ever. but that's just my opinion, of course.
yeah, saturday is moving day. once we're moved it'll be better, but the process right now is killing me. hopefully tomorrow will be a nice break, just hanging out with the family and stuff, should be pretty relaxing. happy birthday to your merch girl too! :D
yeahhh the jobros and jordin sparks wee amazing!! than they had this band called honor society oppen and they were amazing too! it was great! just think, it might say "plunket" on a allstate arena ticket one day soon!!!:) well yeahh im really happy to hear the concert went well! and yess i def wish i couldve been from row with u guyss:( but next time u know it!! and iowa..that stinkss! there is always next time! u guys should think about missouri sometime, somewhere. my dad is the head manager of the select comfort store and like 4 others, he could probably get u guys a gig at one of the stores in the mall or even like in the middle of the mall!!! let me know if u want me to talk to him and than my cousin and other fans in missouri could see u! maybe even me:)

oh, i know i do. i have a really good antivirus thing but my computer won't let me run the scan. i'm about to just give up, actually. it really seems like the only thing to do. i can replace itunes. :/ i'm smart and saved everything else that was important last time this happened.
well, i hope you've been having a good week. i've been doing nonstop work at the other house so we can be moved in in 3 days. and wednesday is my brother's birthday, so the rest of my week is pretty busy. but i hope yours is fun! :D
