Climate change is beginning to show signals, very worrying!. The need for ambitious global action to implement immediate action to combat climate change is as pressing as it ever was.

Araba Fenice: Planet Earth!; Destroyed forests!, Rises from its ashes!, But on humanity !!!!????. Disappears!. To save humanity, we must save the Ark Alliance, the most beautiful and perfect, existing in the Creation: that is, Mother Earth. In this regard, the prevention! is essential to achieve synergies of international solidarity and to do that, all countries, forest owners, must make a reforestation volunteers with the typical flora of any area that will bring the world to be convinced of the good will and at the same time triggers a process of acceptance and international cooperation for the provision of technologies needed for the gradual replacement of obsolete systems of energy, with new sources renewable clean. We believe it is the way to reach a binding agreement for the definitive stop to the destruction of primary forests. Support Atmosforests!!.
Best Regards.

Just wanted to take a second and tell you that Canada`s response to Haiti has been incredible. So proud of our Sailors and soldiers, all those citizens who are giving, and the government for its astonishingly rapid and generous response. Well done and Bravo Zulu Mr. Harper, and Mr McKay. Keep pushing those Joint Support Ships...they would be invaluable in this role...

Seeing lots of businesses shutting as they can't afford rent.  At least the banks are doing well...

Glass Stegall Act - a very good idea.  "Too big to fail" -is too big to sustain.  Unless we want to be ruled by the most ruthless, risk-taking, least responsible among us...

Prorogation.   Had doubts at first - however it often seems with bureaucracy that, "less is more".

Brilliant.  Smaller, more efficient government. Powder dry.  Awesome.

Your opinion on taxes and the "greenhouse effect" are perfect Mr. Harper.  Thanks for doing an awesome job in "middle power" style negotiation.  Not sure any better moves could have been made given the circumstances.

Although, we could help B.P. Shell, Exxon and Goldman Sachs - as well as externalizing inflation off all the "monetization" -by signing some hardcore "environmentalist" cap and trade regulation at Copenhagen.  Yay - MORE derivatives...  Wow, who'd of ever thought the environmental movement would campaign so hard for Wall street and big oil?

COPENHAGEN. AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SALVATION OF THE PLANET EARTH, could be the most colossal economic development opportunities international. The Kyoto Protocol is not 100% solution to the problem of global warming, is obsolete. Replace or upgrade with the definitive stop to the destruction of primary forests, and the scheduling of legislation for reforestation with the flora typical of each area, as well as an international treaty for the dissemination and use of renewable energy sources, would become the means for resolving the economy and the climate.

(Continued from my post Below)... .(if the facts of such torture can actually be substaniated) . Personally I feel Canada should not get involved in any UN related conflicts and just worry about concentrating on protecting our own soil.
Rwanda was a Prime Example of a conflict that totally and utterly failed under UN control.(Just ask Senator/then General) Dellaire how effective the UN really was, when he asked for urgent and immediate support troops to attempt to help stop the genocide in Rwanda) He was lucky to save as many people as he did,as well as himself at that time.

The only thing I am all for is Canada providing military to escort and ensure that when we provide humanitian aid to people of another country,- that the aid is sent under military guard to actually ensure the proper people it was designated for, actually recieves it ! ,or to assist in rescue/disaster relief efforts. Otherwise I dont feel we should be taking orders from the UN in any way. We are a sovereign country and we should act like it. In fact,If I were PM,(no offence Sir-just hypothetically..lol)  Id ensure Canada pulled out of the UN entirely ,as we are quite capable of looking after our own security issues and other domestic affairs.

Hi Stephen,I just wanted to quickly comment on this whole Detainee issue. The Opposition parties apparently seem to be on witch-hunt here attempting to lay blame for the alleged mistreatment/torture of detainees with the Canadian government and Canadian military.

Firstly, the government only sets out protocol/orders as it sees reasonable at that particular time based on intelligence they have at that time. From what I understand the proper military protocol was followed and the Canadian Govt, nor the Canadian Military have no control or responsibility to what happens with the detainees once they are out of their care and custody. This would fall on the responsibility of those who then took care and control of those detainees thereafter. (Presumably the afganistan military or police,or whoever it was that accepted the detainees from the Canadian Military)

To attempt to lay blame with Canadian Generals is also outrageous, because although they are no doubt great leaders in the field- they are not psychic and have no idea or responsibility to what happens with the detainees once they are no longer under the detention of the Canadian Military.

it appears that the opposition parties are using the "alleged torture" issue as a political posturing tool, when in fact they know that no Canadian Soldier is alleged to have committed any acts of torture against any detainee. Therefore, this has nothing to do directly with the Canadian Military nor can the Canadian Govt be held responsible for somthing that everyone knows happened outside the control of the Canadian Military.

I'm not one for trying to protect anyone,- I believe blame and Responsibility should fall where it belongs..but in this case,as far as I know, there is no proof that any Canadian soldier commited such acts,- therefore the blame should fall plainly on those who actually (allegedly) committed the acts itself.

Hi Steven, Just wanted to send out Kudos to you, for finally starting to make good on the Conservaties promise to scrap the Long Gun Registry. I've owned and shot firearms recreationally now since I was 18 years old, and know from my contact with people on the Gun Ranges...that this whole Gun Registry was nothing but a huge expensive Billion dollar smoke-screen to appease the anti-gun crowd, that the Liberals used for political posturing at that time.

I live in Winnipeg and the Gun Registry has done squat to deter youth-gang/drug violence in this city (which is why we are still regarded as the Murder Capital of Canada sadly)
Law-abiding gun owners who obtain their firearms legally never were a threat to anyone in this country and for the anti-gun crowd who feel we should abolish gun ownership because they feel it would make people safer...I say to them in the same context using their own logic, that perhaps we should also eliminate alcohol and automobiles too...so we can stamp out drunk driving deaths...after all more deaths are caused each year by intoxicated drivers than by firearms.

Anyways...On Behalf of the law-abiding gun owners in Canada...just wanted to say a Big Thank You !
Have a wonderful weekend !

What a time to be Prime Minister!  Global economic meltdown and war.  At such an overwhelming time in history - remember your roots.  Rocky Mountains, fresh air, clean water, clear skies, big sunsets.  We must never get so lost in the abstract as to lose the moment.

While our strictly prioritized level of frustration should guide our focus (can't do it all); "worry" is reduced by strengthening the metal to cut our losses.  Do not re-visit what must be cut.  We must accept some things.

Such calamitous times must also offer us opportunity.  With no greater
master of middle power diplomacy than Stephan Harper (holding together
a minority government during an economic meltdown - good work),
Canada's position is better than most.

Wish List for Tooth-fairy:

1.  Stop illegal war and torture.  Return: "rule of law", rights to fair legal counsel -for all citizens.  Stop losing our fortune in the historically named "Graveyard of Empires - Afghanistan".
2.  Restore capitalism.  Get the monopolies / big government under control.  Currently, every mall is a clone.  Virtually every industry is a monopoly.  Where is the open market competition?  This is NOT capitalism.
3.  Please give our P.M. great inner strength, equilibrium, vibrant health and integrity in the face of the most powerful human forces on earth.

Hang in there Stephen.  Keep fit, balanced and healthy.  Prioritize time for FUN.  Cut losses, never look back, nourish the fire of your dreams.  We are behind your excellent work!

:-)

Well I was gonna say a Huge Thankys 4 helping us out with the pollution being cause near my home but I got a call and he is gonna start all over again with it. It was such a wonderful year 4 us here..we could go outside and breath fresh air again for the first time in 5 years, started to make inprovements, construction, and clean up our property. I started getting healther and the critters where feeling better, except my beloved mare passed away I guess the onslaught of the gasses effected her too much (that was bad and Im still sad about it, we where together for 23 years), my dog passed away 1 1/2 years ago and we susspect it was from the gass too. So sad that we live in such a beautiful part of the world and things like this happen in our own backyards. So I guess I will be back to wage my little war and you and your party will be getting emails with links to pictures and videos from me. Im not going to stop till that pollution is stopped forever...because I luv where I live and I should be able to enjoy it, my lifestyle sholdn't change, I should not have to wear a gas mask, I should be able to open my windows any time of the year, I should not have to worry about my health or my critters health, the stink and gas should not enter inside my house or in my barns. And I should not worry about my water being polluted either..we had to get a well cause our other water system was in question. Yep..I live in Canada and sometimes I wonder if we are turning into a 3rd world country with this sort of pollution being allowed and not stopped. So really sad but true that this sort of thing happens ....
