Books
I love books on spirituality. I'm also big on biographies. I just finished: The Eagle and the Condor by Jonette Crowley. I'm currently reading The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho and The Bond Between Women: A journey to Fierce Compassion by China Galland. Some favorites are, I'm with the Band by Pamela Desbarres, Book of Shadows by Phyllis Currott, Lakota Woman by Mary Crow Dog and the Spiritwalker Trilogy by Dr. Hank Wesselman. I also adore Anne Sexton and Rainer Maria Rilke.
Brother body is poor . . .: then we'll have to be rich for him.
Often he was the rich one: so may he be pardoned
the meanness of his worst moments.
If he then acts as though he scarcely still knows us,
let us gently remind him of everything shared.
Granted, we are not one, but a solitary two:
Our consciousness and he;
But how much we owe each other
past conceiving,
the way it is with friends! And one learns in illness:
friendship is hard!
~ Rainer Maria Rilke
written six months before his death.
This tree is at David Marks' house up Cameron Road. It is seeable. The top is blown out by lightning and it is estimated at 2500 years of age. It's a witness tree for a property line. Anyway, it can be done.
that is some unbelievable bullshit you're dealing with! i'm so sorry sweetie! but you know, i think you've got the right attitude. i think a lot of things are going to be so screwy for a while that all we can do is say... 'wow, ok, whatev', you know?
as long as i am around, you will never be homeless... we're all going to be looking out for each other i think, don't you? and that parts not so bad. :)
Today I saw a Bart Davenport sticker on a newspaper vending thingamajigie and I tried to unpeel it. I was unsuccessful and started yelling "I need it! Where is his secret street team?!!" My co-worker looked on and deemed me nutso.
i took that shot shortly before leaving james... experimenting with capturing a mood. that's something i'm hoping to do more of instead of just taking 'pretty' pictures all the time. trying to tap into that other side a little.
Ohmygod, that hurt that was so funny. You're freakin' hilarious.
Also, it's that time of the year where I should be coming home to find you sunbathing in the two feet of light on the sidewalk next to your door. I might have to take up the tradition...
