Perpetual Motion Productions is the brainchild of a couple of musically inclined cats from Melbourne.
It was formed in late 2005, when a meeting of minds and diverse spread of skills decided to create a vehicle for their own music to be brought to a wider audience.
Since its conception, Perpetual Motion has dedicated itself to the pursuit of quality funk, hip hop and all strains of soul music.
Early 2006 saw the inception of the Jump Off. A monthly funk fix showcasing some of this city's finest and up and coming DJ's. The Jump Off has since blossomed into Melburn's premier funk joint, with guest spots from such luminaries and industry stalwarts as Tramp Records' Tobias Kirmayer, the All Good Funk Alliance, DJ Ransom and Music Man Miles (Breakestra).
Past Jump Off guests include DJ No_Fuss, Paz, DJ John Idem, Lisa Hunt, Tobias Kirmayer, Dr. Chops, DJ Ransom, Music Man Miles (Breakestra), Neil Stafford, Cookin' On 3 Burners, Chris Gill, the Ill Cadre DJ set, Mr. Moonshine, Choi's Hammond trio, DJ Showtime, Andrew James, Snowie, Mr. Lob, DJ Obliveus, Gsan, DJ Manchild, the All Good Funk Alliance, DJ Scarlet Fever, Danny Cool, Monkey, the Funk Club crew: Lysistrata, Charlie Bucket, Loco Ren, The Crux, Lindemon, DJ Who? and Ennio Styles with many more to come.
2007 sees the record company division of Perpetual Motion born in style with the first in the 'Flows Right Through' series, a compilation album featuring some of our favorite local and international artists. In stores now, Flows Right Through is distributed by our friends at Amphead music. Big yo!
