    alone with everybody
    Charles Bukowski

    the flesh covers the bone
    and they put a mind
    in there and
    sometimes a soul,

    and the women break
    vases against the walls
    and the men drink too
    much

    and nobody finds the
    one
    but they keep
    looking
    crawling in and out
    of beds.

    flesh covers
    the bone and the
    flesh searches
    for more than
    flesh.

    there's no chance
    at all:
    we are all trapped
    by a singular
    fate.

    nobody ever finds
    the one.

    the city dumps fill
    the junkyards fill
    the madhouses fill
    the hospitals fill
    the graveyards fill

    nothing else
    fills.

About me:

I use photography as my main artistic outlet in an effort to capture the often unseen beauty of the people and world around us. I believe beauty can be found in unusual places and outside of traditional perspectives.

My love of photography began in 1983 when I came across a book on Victorian cemetery art in my high school library. I immediately fell in love with the quiet beauty of the statues portrayed on those pages. After discovering that book, I was drawn to cemeteries, junk yards, abandoned buildings and rusted cars with my camera — finding beauty among the forgotten “things” of this world.

My love of cemeteries and their beauty took me and my camera to Paris, France in 2007 where I spent two weeks walking the streets and spending most of my time in cemeteries there.

At the beginning of 2008 I changed direction and turned my attention to people. I have always been drawn to colorful people who live outside of the social norm and are often judged by their outward appearance. This brought to life my photo essay “Women with Ink”. I wanted to show the true beauty of inked women and challenge the criteria determined by society on what makes a woman beautiful.

In the summer of 2008 I began photographing the people and scenes of Milwaukee, specifically the colorful Riverwest neighborhood I call home. These photos were made into a greeting card series as well as framed art for purchase. I have also created an ongoing series of erotic cards and prints sold exclusively at The Tool Shed located at 2427 North Murray Avenue in Milwaukee.

In the years to come, as both my work and I evolve, I plan to continue exploring the colorful people, places and things that make life truly interesting and show the world how beauty can be redefined, reexamined, and found in unexpected places.

My First National Magazine Cover. May 2008!

I am completely imperfect and enjoy every minute of it. I don’t like the typical or the mundane. Nor do I believe that life is supposed to be a certain way.

I love to laugh and I crack myself up all the time. I have a weird sense of humor. Well, at least I think I'm funny but not many other people realize I'm joking or get my humor.

There is nothing typical in my life! My world is often a loose collection of barely decipherable notes on the cocktail napkins of life....

One day I will chew my way out of this rat cage you have put me in.....

The Wedding

Who I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people that know who they are and can be themselves. But I am not sure they exist.

People who don't judge and who aren't drama queens/kings. But I doubt they exist.

People who are real and don’t have a personal agenda and don't resort to hiding behind some mask. But again I doubt they exist.

People who are NOT selfish and takers...but I doubt they exist...

F**K, I'm getting quite cynical in my old age!

OK really I am open to meeting everyone and anyone and I am still waiting for the man who doesnt find me intimidating and can see me for who I am.

One of my favorite quotes is by Lucy Van Pelt (from Peanuts)."My beauty is not only on the surface. It goes down deep....layer after layer after layer. Yes, sir! I have very thick beauty."
