About me:I'm a writer/comedian who makes money working in production until I make millions with my wit and charm. In fact, I write about that very predicament over at Film Industry Bloggers. I live in LA now but I'll always be a Marylander at heart. I love biking, driving, exploring, dancing, people watching, drawing, reading, writing... whole lot of -ing's. I do not like drinking though, or smoking. I am a total teetotaller. But don't worry, I'm not pretentious about it. I live for wailing guitar solos and laughing my ass off.
I am also running the AIDS Marathon this year to raise money for... AIDS. Click here to donate! It's tax deductible and it's for a good cause... I think our country as a whole could use some good karma right about now, too.
I like owning used things. I am way too self-amused for my own good. Crazy things delight me. Crazy people are drawn to me more than to others. I'm probably the most un-ironic person I know. I legitimately love dinosaurs and presidents. I enjoy other people's awkward moments, a lot. I have a total crush on Neil Patrick Harris. I love Sci Fi more than you would think. Sometimes I can't tell if I am a 60 year old woman or a 12 year old boy. I really like it when people look or act like cartoons. I love my wig collection and ska music. And tacky t shirts. And belt buckles. I am a very classy lady. And a bit of a homebody. I haven't missed the opening day of a Jim Carrey movie since Ace Ventura 2. I'm hilarious too. Oh. And humble.

GeneralSCATTING!! (nonsensical jazz music versus shitting on people... perv), reciting the filmography of Brendan Fraser, parking garage roofs, being barefoot, the Full House Holy Trinity, puns, Native Americans, tex-mex in general and Chevy's in specific, Kill/Marry/Fuck, making silly films, writing, stand up, improv, rock n roll, concerts, photography, playing french horn and trumpet, learning guitar, getting tickets and then never being able to go to tapings of Conan O'Brien, PHOTOSHOP, painting, grilled cheese, thrifting, fuzzy posters, Tyler Perry-ing, laughing, skanking, SOUTH OF THE BORDER and other various places of kitschy Americana, making fun of confederates, spur-of-the-moment photoshoots, 90's Orioles, harmless stalking, spontaneous dance parties, sailing, ALAN RICKMAN TRIBUTE VIDEOS, learning quirky ex presidential facts, daydreaming, laughing about black face, collecting Abe Lincoln periphanelia, dinosaurs, Elvis Presley, washed up celebrities, and blasting the theme song of the place i am driving through at full volume... and sideburns. I have a deep respect for good sideburns. Well, most facial hair in general. And Yakkety Sax.
MusicReel Big Fish, Old Crow Medicine Show, Queen, Beck, Eagles of Death Metal, ANDREW W.K., Jenny Lewis, Feist, Suburban Legends, The Mountain Goats, The Beatles, The White Stripes, TOM JONES, Gogol Bordello, Less Than Jake, Sufjan Stevens, Man Man, Bob Dylan, World Inferno Friendship Society, Johnny Cash, Weird Al Yankovic, Fiona Apple, Spoon, The Matches, Joanna Newsom, and anything New Wave or Cawk Rawk... if I don't break a sweat dancing, I probably won't see you live. Unless you have schtick. Or you have a gimmick. I love gimmicks. I also love swing & really bad 90's music. Ska music makes me happy like nothing else can. And I am in l-o-v-e with Elvis Presley, at all ages, now and forever.
MoviesMy most influential films are: Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Child's Play 2 and Total Recall. This doesn't mean these are my favorite, but they've shaped me more than any other films have... sorry film school, I failed you.
Bubba Ho-Tep, Harold & Maude, Singin' In The Rain, Talladega Nights, Throw Momma From the Train, Anchorman, Zoolander, Wet Hot American Summer, LA Confidential, The Aristocrats, Toy Story, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shawshank Redemption, Love Actually, Serenity, The Matador, Arlington Road, Lucky Number Slevin. Also love basically anything Wes Anderson has done. BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS!! DEMOLITION MAN!! THE FACULTY!! SLiTHER!! JURASSIC PARK!! INDEPENDENCE DAY!! ELMOPALOOZA!! Most 90's Baseball Movies. All Brendan Fraser movies. All of the Star Trek: TNG movies (somewhere inside is a huge sci-fi geek). Jim Carrey movies are my biggest influence. I love John Waters. And his mustache.
TelevisionThe Office, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, Raines, HUMAN GIANT, The Winner, Arrested Development, Upright Citizens Brigade, Scrubs, Strangers With Candy, Stella, Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Firefly, Reno 911, Freaks & Geeks, The L Word, Dexter, Saturday Night Live (1975-2002), Seinfeld, FULL HOUSE , Andy Barker: PI. And I watch Star Trek: TNG whenever I can.
BooksMy eyes are bad from reading so much as a kid. I've probably read "The Great Gatsby" 30 times, if I ever kill John Lennon you'd find it in my pocket. I read every book I can get my hands on about Abe Lincoln, no joke. "Assassination Vacation". "High Fidelity". "The Watchers". "On The Road". "Wuthering Heights" "The Dubliners" My collection of short stories on Dead Elvis. "Lost in the Funhouse" by Bill Zehme. Bruce Campbell's "If Chins Could Kill - Confessions of a B Movie Actor". "Catch 22". "No Laughing Matter". I love the Saturday Night Live memoir book that came out in 2003, and anything written by Steve Martin, especially "Shop Girl". "The Daily Show Presents: America The Book". And "Nothing Sacred" by Lewis Black... he kissed me one time, haha. And I love books of Presidential Trivia.
Mae Bessie Posey, my grandmother - I am the person that I am today because of this woman... she has taught me to love storytelling and I would not be half the person I am today without her influence in my life - she was my grandmother, my role model and one of my best friends.
Jim Carrey - the day I saw him fall out of a rhino's butt I knew I wanted to make pictures.
Andy Kaufman - he made a living in making himself laugh, regardless of who else thought he was funny.
Abraham Lincoln- little known fact: freed the slaves. Oh, was also a jokester and a teetotaller.
