Music
All of it. I do not think there are any bad musicians rather just musicians that have not found their sound. I admire anyone who has the gumption to get up on stage and bear their sould to the universe. Biggest influences: Primus, Red Hot Chile Peppers, Earth Wind and Fire, Fishbone, Firehose, John Denver, Allan Harris, Stevie Wonder, Thelonious Monk, Barry White, Howlin' Wolf, Dag, Metallica, Live, Dizzie, Prince and all of his various personas, Kings of Leon, Pancake and The Dirty Bottom Boys.

The Story:
A year ago I was looking to upgrade my drum set. I shopped retail outlets, online services and tested many brand-name, well advertised kits--but they did not live up to my expectations. I soon realized that to get what I wanted through the usual outlets I would have to pay 3 to 5 thousand dollars. I decided there had to be a way to get a high quality set for a reasonable price. Through research, some connections I had with my wine business and a little luck, I found a way to design my own. I got what I wanted without paying the high prices of a custom drum house. I love my set so much, I want to share it with you. That's why I started Po Boy Drums.
Why buy Po Boy drums, hardware and cymbals?
We offer high quality products for the price the average drummer wants to pay. Many professional quality drums are far too expensive. Typically, modestly priced drums warp, crack and don't resonate well. Our drums solve both theses problems. We use only the highest quality woods and our unique air-sealing lamination process assures they won't easily warp or crack, yet still resonate clearly.
Our cymbals are hand hammered, professional quality instruments made exclusively from B20 Bronze. The artisans that craft our cymbals have an average experience of 42 years and are true masters of their trade. We also offer a realistic number of models and sounds to cut out the confusion in buying cymbals and offer what drummers really want.
We guarantee what you buy. Often large companies care more about profit that about you. We do not pay endorsers; we do not pay drum magazines. We just make the best sounding drums we can for the lowest price we can offer them for. If you are not happy with any of our products send them back to us within 30 days in like new condition and we will refund your purchase price minus shipping costs without a hassle.
Need credibility? Our drums are made in the same factories as many of the top, expensive, flagship brands you see advertised in your favorite drum magazine.
OUR PRODUCTS:
We just got in our first round of prototypes, and they are stunning. We offer several series of sets and cymbals to match your needs and skill...a few highlights:

Add to this our proprietary floating lugs, our triple hardened steel suspension tom mounts, and our Bombastic Series hardware and you get a drum set that is sure to be counted among the best values in the marketplace. A.M.Y. stands for "All My Yearning" and is produced to deliver just that--everything you want in a professional series drum set for a price that is reasonable and unparalleled.
Featured woods in the A.M.Y. series include our 100% Siberian Rock Maple kits, beuatiful solid Walnut set, an unbelievable Birch/Maple hybrid and stunning Bubinga/Birch hybrid.
Want a low mass, light weight kit to play on? Here they are! The first of the two main stays is the Classic Cocktail kit. Produced with maple, lacquer rubbed for a breathtaking finish, and outfitted with low mass hardware to keep the resonance of the shells alive. This series will also include hand cast b20 bronze cymbals stock with the kit!
The second production model of the club series is the One Too Many kit. Have you had too many cocktails? This is the sit down version of the cocktail set. All of the drums are mounted on the bass drum for a lightweight, great sounding and ambient travel kit! Also be on the lookout for the Brisco kit and the practice kit in early 2007.
**Not So Po Boy**
Approx Price Range: $499.00-$899.00
Looking for a good quality intermediate set? Not So Po Boy is for you. Made in the same factories as our A.M.Y. Custom and A.M.Y Cocktail sets, this series provides a great value to price ratio. The Not So Po Boy series is still in development. We are testing wood combinations and hardware to find the right blend for your needs. This series will be in production in 2007
CYMBALS:
**FINE CHINA**
Here is our labor of love. We have spent countless hours researching cymbal hammering patterns, thicknesses, and shapes to develop this series of cymbals. The Fine China Series is made for the pro player and are unbelievably versatile and complex. If you pound them they boom, if you tap them they whisper! Our FINE CHINA series features B20 bronze produced in a spiral hammering pattern with a square peen hammer. This radiates several different frequencies off the cymbal to hit more of the overall spectrum of sound needed to fit in the mix in different applications.
**EARTH JAZZ**
The Po Boy Earth Jazz Series was created for those who want darker, earthier tonalities combined with stunningly cool looks. As the name suggests, these cymbals will shine in a jazz or blues setting, but are still versatile enough for rock, salsa, pop or anything else that would warrant the sound! Again, just as all of our other lines, this series is made with the coveted B-20 bronze.
**PO BOY LIDS**
Want professional quality at a beginner price point? Check out our LIDS. Hand cast and hammered from B-20 Bronze, this line up is solid, complex and musical. Perfect for rock, metal, punk and pop applications, but versatile enough for other types of music. The LIDS Series is made quite simply for the beginner who needs a better quality cymbal than sheet bronze for the same basic price point. Although LIDS were made with the beginner in mind, the complex and musical nature of the cymbals will not be lost on the professional’s set up by any means.
