This year’s seen Simon Berry and myself getting back on the road and playing some live sets as Union Jack. The first was the Ultra Music festival in Miami where I joined Simon and Kuut (EXUS, Terra Ferma,
Urban Shakedown) at the Ultra party to play the first Union Jack set in 7 years. It was great playing there on a suberb sound system. After that we played a date in Spain, a rocking gig in Cumbria UK and
most recently a show in the the desert in Israel which was a great experience. If you were there, thanks for your support.
I've colaborated with Taylor from LA to write wrote two tracks titled 'Freerunning' and 'Shake Me Up' which you can hear at Pob And Taylor.
At the moment I'm working with Simon Berry in the studio as Union Jack towards an album late 2009 and a live tour. We've already finished a couple of tracks together 'Papillon' and another as yet untitled.
Watch this space Union Jack.
Here's my biog...
Pob (aka Paul Brogden) built himself a strong following with his solo work as POB, with "The Essence", "Strata" and "Boiler / Beast". He collaborated with DJ Taylor from L.A. on a track called "Baba"
(Distinctive Records and included on the Renaissance compilation mixed by Anthony Pappa) and worked with DJ Patrick Reid on the single 'Bluebottle / Fly'. This found favour with both Sasha and John Digweed -
Sasha using the track 'Fly' on his Global Underground in Ibiza compilation and John Digweed choosing 'Bluebottle' to play in the dance culture movie 'Groove'. His track 'Waah!' was snapped up by Sasha and
Digweed for their 'Communicate' album before the single was pressed. His collaboration with Taylor 'Aura', was signed by John Digweed for Bedrock Records.
Pob's remix highlights include the Raze anthem "Break For Love", Sasha's "Magic", Slacker's "Scared" and Bedrock's 'Heaven Scent'.
Paul released his debut solo album ‘Essence’ as POB on Platipus Records in 2001, featuring collaborations with Art Of Trance, Boyd Westerman, Patrick Reid, Justin Murray and Taylor. The first single from the
album was the euphoric ‘Luna’, a collaboration with Boyd Westerman from Florida featuring Louise De Fraine on vocals, followed by the epic 'Today' (again featuring vocal by Louise De Fraine) which journeys
from dark and moody through raw emotion and back.
Just released the second part to my "Frozen Elements" mix. It contains tracks from Coldharbour Recordings and Electronic Elements. This is an all vocal progressive trance mix. This was officially released on www.trancedesign.net and generated over 4K downloads in the first week. Hope you enjoy!
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the
