The Return Of Summer
Summer is slowly returning to our beaches, and it's been a good start of the year for us pocket players. More gigs than we could shake a stick at over the past months, from St Ives to Plymouth with some highlights at the Watering Hole and Belushis of course!
Merry June and July to you all. We hope you are all out to support us this summer as you were last year and join us on a forward march towards drunkedness and debauchery (whilst clinging to a professional gleam!). Our journey through the realms of 24 hour licensing, watching the sunrise from belushis as you sip your fresh ice cold pint of fosters and neck a jagerbull, BE THERE NEWQUAY, DONT BE SQUARE.
LOOK OUT!! If you are one of the growing number of PP fans that keeps up to date on goings on (not you Dave!) you may know of the somewhat missing E.P. recorded late last year in the pub, it has now been mixed by the musical legend that is alphababy, and now for your ears only you can sample its delights. Even better, we are undertaking more recording on June 18/19th in a session at Pond Lane Studio and we will also write some more future classics to go alongside the likes of 'Do You Dare', 'Man on the Moon' and 'Dr.Robotnik'.

Formed early in 2006, the Pocket Players have now played in many of Newquay's pubs, greeted by an overwhelmingly good local reception so far. The band is keen to develop and play more, and would love to attract more exposure!
The Pocket Players features a collaboration of free spirited musicians keen to bring back a more improvised, live, but also more musically diverse sound. Sticking to a Funk theme, the music is for dancing, but designed to keep all the band members engaged and 'in the pocket', so hopefully that feeling will be passed on to you, our fans! We love to play and we love it when your funkin' toes are tappin!
