Can't imagine that I won't have one of these,soon...
Miracles DO come in cardboard packages!!!
Japanese video games!
What exactly are they teaching their children over there?
I think the title of this game translates to:"Family Beat-Down".Hmmmm.....
Addicted to that stuff up there, right now.
I keep up with a lot of racing. From F-1 Sunday morning(at 5:00!!!),to Late Models on dirt(my favorite, actually).I grew up around dirt track racing. My Poppa owned and sponsored a pretty high-end operation as I was growing up,and I went home with dirt on my face every Saturday night, for years.
My Son,Austin,is on the golf team @ JCHS(!).Yay.Free golf for Daddy.Might actually start playing again. He also(still)trains in Mixed Martial Arts with Casey Oxendine, and I'm being led to believe that he has a lot of potential.I'm a little jealous,I guess, but it's kind-of freaky that people in Johnson City and Boone know who my kid is,because of his training.Very cool.
I play my DS too much,anymore..A little embarassing in my thirties, but I think it's a different thing, now.People our age at least had Pong and stuff,at an early age,so we grew up with it.Anybody have a Grandparent that couldn't possibly have imagined owning a T.V.?They weren't born with them,y'see. My girls play a lot,but mostly the girly,pet-sim games.Don't really want them shooting at stuff.
Please don't laugh....I'm laughing as I'm writing this,so I guess it's O.K. to laugh.I play"Pirates"with my kids, and my friend,Billy.See,it's this little game that comes in packs, like baseball cards, and you punch-out these little ships, and follow a set of rules to get gold and stuff.Like pirates.Don't play it unless you want to get hooked. It's fun.
The Cursed Blade
Schooner. Once per turn, this ship may randomly take one treasure from any ship she touches.
Greed motivates El Gato, captain of the Cursed Blade. His crew have mastered many inventive tactics in order to steal an opponent’s treasure, rather than fight.
Music
I play the keyboards as much as anything, right now.Mostly so I can sing(can try to sing?)to it.I'm actually kinda working on sight-reading.My Brother-in law,Josh,is pretty proficient, and he's helping me.We mostly work on stuff by Vince Guaraldi-the guy that did all the Charlie Brown stuff.Jazz, believe it or not.Pretty crazy stuff, really.I like to make things more difficult than they need to be(but freaky to watch),just to give Josh a hard time.It hurts his trained hands to watch,I think...There's also this other guy,George Winston, who does interpretatins of Guaraldi's stuff, and he's freaky good.
I still play a lot of(most of?)Matchbox Twenty's tunes, usually on the Keys.Kinda sad, really, but everybody's gotta like somebody,I guess. My buddy Ragan Garland is an extremely talented songwriter.Dude just picks up the guitar and starts writing songs, something I've tried to do for twenty years, mostly unsuccesfully.
Movies
I honestly believe that I watch as few movies as is possible, considering how much I attempt to stay current with the world on most issues.Liked "Star Wars",didn't love it,and didn't even see the new ones.Tried "Lord of the Rings",but had read the books ten times,so it just didn't take well."The Hitchhikers Guide"turned out O.K.though,and if you've ever read that, you know how specific those"mental pictures"are.1408!Fuk!!!Population 436!Holy Fuk!!!Not sure about the horror kick,but...O.K...
Television
Chef Ramsay kicks ass.I like Hell's Kitchen, but Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is better, especially the BBC ones.
I REALLY like That 70's Show, which is kind of strange, being as it's about a time period that I absolutely do not relate to at all('cept for KISS,I guess...).Funny,though.Bob is my favorite. Not so much anymore, but I like King of the Hill pretty good.UFC,Racing,Lazytown.Rachel Ray is great, too, but I think I could watch her with the sound off and enjoy it equally well.Hmmmm...Perv...I don't "try" to watch them, but when I turn to one of those I Love the Eighties shows on VH1,I can't turn it.I guess...I Love the Eighties. My wife makes me watch House with her(!)...I don't really care for the show, but Hugh Laurie kicks ass from back in the BBC days,so s'ok.If you haven't watched all six seasons of OZ(I gots the DVD's.Pro'lly you can borrow them,if yur really nice...)you are missing some nefarious shit.Idol sucks anymore(ya,"anymore"-I used to watch...sorry...),so I try to avoid it,but again,Stacey(and the kids...)doesn't let me.
Books
Not so much, anymore. My attention span doesn't really even exist...I used to read a lot, though.Haven't been over my"magazine phase"(Guitar,Maxim,Golf)long, but I read so fast that it became an expensive hobby.I don't miss them,at all.
My li'l Sister Sam recently started reading the Dragonlance stuff, which is ultra-nifty,and that has caused me to look at some of them again.
Heroes
That Commercial song they play during he race(we can be he--roes,for just one day...or everyday...or some crap)is the only thing coming to mind.

About me: ...
I dunno.Really.Somehow,I always feel like I try my hardest, whatever it is I am doing, and somehow wind up getting screwed. It's almost to the point that I expect it to happen.Somehow, these things have to be rooted in me not doing something right. So many things happen that seem "not right" to me that it has to be my perception of "not right".
I seem to be missing some inherent trait that most people have enabling them to overlook stupid stuff that people(Everyone!Including-especially?-me...)do,with a better understanding of the bigger picture involved.
I also readily admit to living with my head rooted firmly up my butt, and tend to view things exclusively from the perspective of how they affect me(Y'notice that all these sentences start with "I"...hehe...).I spend so much time amusing myself,so to speak(ummm...that sounds dirty...)that it even affects how much time I am willing to put into a career.Seriously,I'm not lazy-just kinda distracted.
Keeping up with people is another issue(!).Why don't I call? Why don't I write back?F#@k,I don't know!I'm pretty sure that that has something to do with the solution to the stuff I'm whining about here.
I suppose selfishness would be the easiest catch-all to explain the issues I've described, but I think it's bigger than that.It feels to me that selfishness inherenty involves maliciousness, and I try pretty hard to keep the things that I do from affecting others.By all means, come into "my world",but yur pro'lly gonna have to force the door open(...repeatedly...).
So,where do I go from here? How does considering this crap help me?
F#@k,I dont know!
This is Dashiell. He is our first Birman Kitten. He died,as a Kitten, from a horrible Kitty disease called FIP,Feline Infectuous Peritonitis.Dash was the bestest, biggest, strongest boy that any Birman breeder ever made.It was a fluke, what happened, made harder to believe because of how perfect he was.
This is Lilly.Her real name is Evangaline Lilly,but we's just call her Lilly.She's Dashiell's little Sister,from the next litter.She is like a scooting snowball.It's funny.She loves to play,but she's a little jumpy.As I mentioned before,Mommy keeps her on her toes.They have their moments together.She didn't take long to get REALLY big.She's a li'l fatty,almost,but she's perfect!
This is Mommy Kitty,Celena. You've gotta imagine that she'd have to be pretty, considering Dashiell and Lilly.
Celena is "my" Kitty. She wasn't spayed when we got her,but we were contractually obligated not to allow her to make more Kitties.Thing is,two months in a row,she got sick(eye infection, nbd)the day we were set to have her fixed. It was pure hell. She peed on everything, kept us up howling all night, tried her damnest to get out the door, everything you could imagine. My family was very frustrated, but I still made sure she knew I loved her.Now she's fixed, and it's like we have a new Kitty. She is the brightest-eyed Kitty I've ever seen......................................................I'm thirty.....something...I sing(...fairly O.K.,I guess)Play the keyboard quite a bit anymore(getting better,slowly.).
Play the guitar,as well,I guess(ultimate irony here-they[whoever they is]anyway, they tell me I'm pretty good at that-and I should be,I've played for twenty.....something years---...I hate the freaking thing(sorry Clayton). My son's starting to play,so I guess I'll have to live through that again.Oh well.Married to Staceysince, well, high school,I guess.Pretty O.K. now,anyway.Ups,downs,in-betweens.But things are good.Three kids,Austin,Breana, and Caleigh-13,9,and 6 y/o.Austin is sort-of a mini-me.At this point,I've kinda conditioned him to think like me,so we are a lot alike.Breana is the little artist(as a result,I'm the big paper-picker-upper!),and will probably be able to do anything she sets out to do.Her aunt Melody means a lot to her.Caleigh is really outside the box altogether. She does a little of everything, most of it in an attempt to reach out to her bro & sis as "peers".She is just an agreeable sweetheart.Overall,we are a pretty happy family.
Who I'd like to meet: 1.ROB THOMAS-Great singer.Good band situation.Probably the best songwriter of all time.My,ummmm.."Friend",as well.Cool.2.JIMMIE JOHNSON-OMG!!! Three in a row?O.K..We called this last year. How 'bout FOUR!!!Wait and see...
3.GENE SIMMONS-Not really sure why.Hardcore Straight Edge does not appeal to me at all,in the same way that living in the gutter drunk is unnacceptable. So we couldn't,like, party or anything, and I don't really have a head for business.
BUT-He is the DEMON,after all.Maybe I'd try to get him to breathe fire or something.KISS were the shits to me when I was younger.4.ELTON JOHN-LOOK!!!!LOOK!!!!I have three kids(ABC),a great wife, and a stack of Playboy three feet high(that last one is not true, but it sounds good, hehe). Each to their own,I guess. But what I like can't be measured in inches.
Again,it's the songwriting. And the piano.Elton has magic fingers.
5.SHIGERU MIYAMOTO-Only created Zelda,Mario Bros.,Donkey Kong,and The Block Kuzushi(!).Sure hope he speaks English
6.RAMPAGE JACKSON-Well,Forrest is cool and all,but Rampage still needs a rematch!

Where you headed to school old man? If I can do it you can to. Just ignore all the annoying youngsters looking at you like you are out of your mind, and shouldnt be sharing class space with them. It passes with time. Especially when they fail out and you pass and move on. This is the one advantage to being more mature and having all the partying out of your system. :)
