    POET BAR'S 1ST ANNUAL POETRY SLAM: MLK CELEBRATION!!! This event made Arizona history as Mon Cherie offered over 12,500 inner-city high school students an opportunity to win academic scholarships and prizes for writing poetry and performing it on stage, which celebrated African American leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ms. Betty H. Fairfax. CONGRATS to 1st Place: Da'Vonna Shannon (Chavez HS), 2nd Place: Yolanda Pruitt (So. Mountain HS), and 3rd Place: Garry Jackson (So. Mountain HS) and ALL FINALISTS!!!

    POET BAR'S 1ST PLACE POETRY SLAM WINNER, Da'Vonna Shannon, won a primetime radio spot on one of Arizona's largest Hip Hop Stations, 101.5 Jamz to recite her winning poem, "CONQUER THE RAINBOW" on MLK Day. Da'Vonna was featured on the Kid & Ruben Show that morning with Special Guest, JANET JACKSON!!! Check Da'Vonna out!
