Sounds Like
I sound like a street light concerto conveniently located in places that used to be known as the blind spot of life
Born July 1982, Poetic7 began his lyrical journey writing song lyrics—poetry was just something produced with affection for English class at school. At that time it was an outlet for expression as Gospel music was the first registered interest in his life. By the age of 15 as he took lyrics a bit more seriously and inspiration began to flow—whether rapped or sung lyrics would be produced at any given opportunity. Song writing held firm through teenage years to dawn of early 20’s but in that time the occasional short rap would find its way onto a page or into a draft text message.
It was on a break from university work at 4 am when the manifestation of poetic prowess became prominent. Four pieces one after another were written and emailed to a handful of friends on a whim. The response prompted a slow burning flame of poetic fire.
Through the training ground of The Verbal Artist Forum and inspiration from spoken word/poetry events in Birmingham, UK, Poetic7’s relationship with the art has been consummated. He performed at Six of the Best show in 2006, earning him a place amongst the elite Birmingham based "Foot in The Door" poets. He continues to write and perform for all ocassions.

Today is the 3yr Anniversary of The Verbal Artist Poetry Forum. TVA was created to unite poets from around the globe. It is a place of camaraderie. Over the past 3yrs we have shared, bonded, exchanged ideas, inspired, found friendship, and created the foundation for a poetic revolution, a revival of consciousness & verbal & written art. I am proud to call myself a “Verbal Artist”, and I’m excited to say that we’re still here. Fads come & go, but The Verbal Artist is here to stay. We all get busy at times but it’s a beautiful thing to have a place to call my poetic home. It’s always an amazing revelation when I take a look at my friends only to find that many of those friendships are because of The Verbal Artist Poetry Forum. We have published authors, soon to be published authors, spoken word artist, poetic innovators and so many driven poets & artist who will one day become iconic. When that day arrives, it will be my pleasure to stand at the pentacle with a host of great minds & genuine friends standing by my side. The Verbal Artist is bigger than just one person, one poet, we are a family, a unit, a underground movement. What amazes me the most is that TVA is so full of talent. Our poets may in fact be some of the greatest poets of our time. I’m happy to have shared 3 yrs of time with The Verbal Artist, and I know that we will share many more.
