MySpace a place for friends

A self-taught drummer, I took up guitar shortly before moving to Florida in late 1998 to pursue a career in music. While trying to get a band together, I began writing acoustic songs and performing around central Florida with my younger brother; we called ourselves "Poetic Rage". Finally, after I successfully put a band together in late 1999, the Poetic Rage project fell by the wayside.

The band, "Coletta", was largely successful on a local level, reaching our peak of notoriety between '03-'05, achieving such accolades as Real Radio 104.1's Monster Band of the Year (twice), Budweiser's True Music Band of the Year, radio play on both Real Rock 101.1 and Real Radio 104.1 in Orlando, headlining local shows at the House of Blues and Hard Rock Live numerous times, and opening for national acts Soil, Candlebox, and Vince Neil.

Coletta's popularity began to fade however, as personal problems arose between band members. The pinnacle of these problems was reached when my "brother" and I had a final falling out, thus destroying the heart and soul of the band. After being pushed out of the band, Coletta continued to fade away until it inevitably dissipated in 2006. The band has attempted several comebacks with new band members, each lasting only a short time and with mediocre results.

Needing to fan the creative fire, I dusted off the acoustic guitar, got out the 8-track recorder and resurrected some of the old acoustic songs, as well as writing and recording new music - "Poetic Rage" was reborn.

The project quickly took on a life of it's own. With virtually no promotion other than MySpace, Poetic Rage received tons of local praise while in Orlando, and garnered some airplay with a few demo tracks on Orlando's O-Rock 105.9 - "The Indie Show."

After 10 years in the Florida scene, I've relocated to my hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Recording has resumed, with an expected CD release date to be announced in 2009.
