Politics, GLBT issues, being good to one another (but not in a New Age, please pass the crystals sort of way), paranomal investigations, collecting antique toys/bar ware/cheesy LPs, reading good books, writing/music/filmmaking, traveling the world and knowing that there is more to this globe than a U.S. (us) mentality, and more.
Music
Deep house/dub, with world music influences. Not about the retread Circuit beats or the multi-layered reverb sounds of Cher (ok - fun to listen to once in a while, but not much more). Enjoy good crafstmanship in music and even better songwriting/lyrics. (Having lived in Cincinnati briefly, I admire the work of the group Over the Rhine to no end.) Enjoying music just like one should enjoy life, without it being packaged and crammed down one's throat with slick advertising/marketing.
Movies
Enjoy classic filmmaking - brought up on Hitchcock, Welles, Kurosawa, Ford, Wilder, Coppola, etc. Appreciate the subtle, letting the audience create the tension for themselves (instead of beating them over the head with blood, guts and gore).
Television
Addicted to, in no particular order: "Heroes;" "Lost;" "Hell's Kitchen;" and whatever is in my Netflix rotation.
Books
Been quite busy with my 9-to-5 job and other projects, so I don't get to sit down and read as much as I'd like. Prefer poetry and short fiction, though, as it is literature for those with little time.
Heroes
Harriet Tubman, Nelson Mandella, William Faulkner, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edgar Allen Poe, Ghandi, Freud, Woodrow Wilson (a relative), John Wesley Hardin (another relative - not really a hero, but I know from whence my occassional temper comes). Many more - too numerous to count- including family, friends, and my partner.
Adam W. Hart is a 36-year-old poet, writer, musician and filmmaker living in Chicago. (Been here since 1997.) Originally from Ohio, I like to work on a multitude of projects - and am always looking for the next one.
I record under the name Laguz (la-gooze), which is a Celtic name taken from the set of Runes (used in fortune-telling). The word means a lot of things - water of Life, the strength that runs through Mother Earth, rebirth/renewal, etc., etc. And yes, it does all sound New Age - but I am a water sign according to the Chinese zodiac, and it just seemed to fit. Also, as a Libra, there seemed to be some balance to it. Sounds cool, I guess, which is enough for me.
Musically, I work with deep house/dub music (original), with some world music influences. I've been told there are similarities to Tosca and St. Germaine - but I try to do my own thing. I'll post some music from my forthcoming album - still stuck in the 'final phase' - but hopefully it will soon be released.
Working on my poetry and fiction (short form and novel length). I've been enjoying reading in public a lot more over the past year, thanks in no small part to my partner (a poet as well). I tend to gravitate toward the more literary forms, but have mixed it up with performance-style - though I'm hardly a performer on stage. I prefer to let my work speak for itself.
Also, working on my filmmaking, as I would love to just sit down, storyboard a film all at once (a la Hitchcock), and then bang the sucker out using a nice HD camera. Barring gold coins raining down from the heavens, this is still in the 'upcoming' phase.

Who I'd like to meet:
Fellow artists, writers, poets, musicians and filmmakers. I know there are lots of us out there - all frustrated by having to work 9-to-5 jobs when we'd rather be at home working on that latest creative project. Connections with other artists are always nice, though, as you never know just when or where a future collaboration will present itself.
MARVELOUS!! Thanks for supporting the CLAW, good sir. Hope you'll be able to make it out for a little onstage bloodletting some day soon - who knows, maybe it'll be your own...
