Poetry Pages Scribes Poetry Series at the Southfield Public Library hosted by Ber-Henda
Poetry, Pages, and Scribes was founded earlier this year by host and poet Ber-Henda. The series was originally housed at Starbucks but due to limited capacity the series has relocated to the Southfield Public Library the first Thursday of every month starting August 2, 2007 from 6p.m.-8p.m. The series itself is a platform for poets, storytellers, and musicians to share their works and the inspiration behind them in an intimate setting. Each the series will feature a local and/or international artist.
Ber-Henda is a locally based poet/author who has been writing for well over a decade. She is an artist on Dark River Recordings and is slated to release her first book and full length CD in the fall. She has hosted events at Bert’s in the Eastern Market. She was the host of Eargasm: An Open Experience, an on going fine arts series and The Cinco de Mayo pre-fight Concert for the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather boxing Event. She is also a Spanish Teacher and translator. Ber-Henda has articles published in the Detroit News and has been quoted in the Metro Times. Currently she publishes blogs on myspace/berhenda.com and the official site of the poetry series poetrypagescribes.com.
Ber-Henda will be hosting a special open mic for 2007 Southfield Books & Beyond Festival taking place on Sunday, September 16th in the afternoon.
Who I'd like to meet: This is site for poets, story tellers, singers and musicans.
If you are an artist who wants to share their talents please sumbmit a biography and sample work to this page for booking inquires.
