Poetry, music, movies (really good ones and really bad "B" movies from decades past), good conversation, my dogs- especially my bloodhound, "Pearl", reading, singing with the radio, watching my kids become more amazing every day.
Music
Rock, punk, alt country, vintage country, americana, bluegrass and blues.... specific favorites: JOHNNY CASH, The Who, Queen, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, NIRVANA, Violent Femmes, Sex Pistols, Bob Marley, TOOTS & THE MAYTALS, The Clash, Green Day, The Distillers, Ghoultown, Flametrick Subs, OLD 97'S, CHRIS KNIGHT, GUY CLARK, Willie Nelson, TOM WAITS, Ralph Stanley, Kasey Chambers, Wanda Jackson, Big Maybelle, Big Mama Thornton and Son House and the list goes on...
Movies
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang... and all my old faves: The Fisher King, Edward Scissorhands, Pulp Fiction, Sid & Nancy, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Ed Wood, Moonstruck and old weird-ass Sci-Fi and Monster movies from the 50's and 60's.
About me: I wanna be a non-conformist, just like you!
I remember way way way (way way) back in high school the spikey-haired punk rock princess in French class wrote up on the chalkboard "PUNK RULES". I asked her, "What are the Punk Rules?"
She gave me a look. Not a friendly look- more like she was considering stabbing me with her stilettos but didn't want to get them scuffed or stained. She decided to dismiss me with a snarl and no answer. So, I still wanna know, "What are the Punk Rules?"- because I wanna be different, unique, a non-conformist (doesn't everybody?).
What I am: SLAM POET, SINGER, WRITER, ARTIST, GRAPHIC DESIGNER, Stupid Romantic, Mother, Daughter, Daydream Believer, Introvert with Social Anxiety (and yet an almost masochistic urge to make a spectacle of myself).
