GeneralWriting, reading, sports, music, astronomy, physics, language. No really, I do have friends.
MusicAnything. Well, nearly ... Hard rock, metal, Irish trad, classical, blues. Not country and western...and NOT jazz!!
MoviesLord of the Rings Trilogy - because it's just like I imagined it.

Tarantino, or anything with a bit of imagination/fun = good.

Most of the stuff that slithers off the paint-by-numbers Hollywood conveyor belt = bad.

Currently trying some 'foreign' movies.

TelevisionNot a huge fan. News and sports okay, but God save us from Reality TV.

Good comedy = okay too.

BooksBest books in the universe have to be 'Superchick', 'Rock and a Hard Place' and 'Ride On' ... all by Stephen J Martin (ahem)!!

Also ... hmm ... Stephen King, Pat McCabe, Bill Bryson, Terry Pratchett, Harper Lee, John B Keane, James Joyce, Jane Austin (!), Alexandre Dumas ... and NOT Dan Brown!!

HeroesMuhammad Ali, Dónal Lunny, Einstein ...

About me:
Irish writer living and working in Hong Kong. You can find out all about that at my other virtual home, the Pointed Shoe Publishing website. Go on, click. You know you want to! Here ya go - another chance... Click!

Getting married Aug in Thailand to cool chick.

Left Ireland in 1992, moved to Tokyo for eight years, working in IT. Then did a big round-the-world trip for a year and ended up in Sydney. Lived there for six years and decided that I wanted to be a writer. Wrote two novels, Superchick and Rock and a Hard Place. Got them both published. Woo-hoo!

Decided it was time for another change and moved to Hong Kong in the Summer of 2006. Wrote the last installment in the Superchick trilogy, Ride On.

Currently coaching the Hong Kong Ladies Gaelic football team ... past and future Champs of Asia.

Who I'd like to meet:
Umm ... any movie/TV producers out there looking for a new project? I know three books just gagging for a treatment!

People who don't talk about the price of property all the time.

Oh, and Homer Simpson obviously.

Love the Trilogy! My wife has picked out the actors she thinks should play each character in the screenplay, by the way.

Well, BIG congratulations to you and Mrs Martin. I'm sure it was a wonderful time even if it was stressful! Helping organise my sisters wedding at the minute but it a year away yet so all is calm(ish) at the mo.

Mr Martin it is an honour to be added as a friend to your page. When I first read Superchick I thought it was my autobiography. I hope the names were changed to protect the underaged. I have played with quite a few Dublin based bands and you have it sussed my man. Cant wait for the next instalment. I think every band has an Aesop or should have. Thanx mate, Ali
