Hailing from their hometown of Keighley, Point Froggs were formed in the summer of 2006 in a room with bad odours and bad lighting, previously occupied by punk midgets! With such varied influences from Jimi Hendrix and Free to The Manic Street Preachers and The White Stripes the outcome could only be something new, something different, yet something familiar, solid songs with screaming solos, catchy choruses and well come see for yourself!
Since that day the band have been playing rock shows locally and some not so much (they're all on the blog if you look hard enough!)
The band have graced many different stages from small pubs, to Limetree and Worthstock festivals to the Frontier Club at Batley and Victoria Hall in Keighley.
'I got there as the Point Froggs were mid set, and was well impressed. First time on seeing/hearing these dudes, tight as, nice one!'
'First time I've seen these on a big stage, with a big sound. And it really shows the quality and tightness of the band.'
The bands first trip to a professional studio ended with the songs that are currently on our page, thanks to Grant at Ivolve for those. The band are planning to return to the magical studio to spend another few days living off red bull and oreos whilst capturing the new, louder, bigger and better sound of the new songs! We'll keep you posted about the new recordings, but for now we're slipped a couple of them into our live set. So .....
See you at the front!!!

You may like to check out my recently released book - 100 Great Albums. It's a 220 page review of the best music recorded during the period 1965-08 featuring the Beatles,Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, Joy Division, U2, Nirvana, Radiohead, the Strokes and many more! Also, 500 vital album tracks are spotlighted (split between five categories... pre-1970, the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000-08).
My aim is to prolong the existence of something close to my heart, something currently under severe threat from the download generation - The Album! With the modern world increasingly more interested in cherry-picking individual tracks, it seems to me a great shame that the sacred long-player is losing its importance. I'm on a mission to save the album before it's too late. All musicians, whether new or old to the scene, can appreciate the importance of that.
If you click on the button below you can access further details about the book (including an option to preview some of the content) before deciding whether you want to buy. All the best Andy.
