Don’t let the name fool you. While the band may not take themselves very seriously, they do take their tunes seriously. Poised for the Worm tenaciously adhere to the mindset that writing and recording great material - and loving every minute of it - is the number one priority in their existence as a clique of superstar nobodies.
The band offers up a unique blend of fast-paced, hard hitting rock that can slow down to a more 70's kinda groove at times. No song is filler. The energy and flow is reminiscent of a time when recording an album was an art, and not just a formality.
They also proved to be a solid live act outside of the studio. One of their shows at Toronto’s 360 was recorded and received high acclaim from listeners online.
“NOTHING beats live music, especially when it's a good song. Seems darker than the rest, but with a title like ‘Asylum’ I suppose that's to be expected. Extremely well recorded for a live song. Sounds like you guys kick some serious ass live! “ -- Rob "Chuck" of RMP Productions.
For the record…
PFTW's debut recording was done on a shoestring budget and the band produced it themselves.
Recording finally wrapped up in late 2001 and the band was very pleased with the outcome. The long awaited CD - aptly titled “With Baited Breath” was finally done.
Always working on moving forward, PFTW have additionally been featured on a number of compilation CDs which were distributed and sold throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.
“Now this is something I can let myself enjoy. Poised for the Worm is a band that plays their style of music unabashedly, seemingly enjoying every note and every word they've recorded. It is only so obvious because the music sounds free, in a way that only a group that respects their craft could play… Check out this tuneful piece of rock art, you won't soon regret it! “ -- Jonathan Sanders, www.godsofmusic.com.

Poised for the Worm....Whats up, How r you?.....Just stopping by to share this great quote about James Brown with you......."James Brown is an American original. A king of soul and rock 'n' roll, Brown is one of the most influential musical artists of the last fifty years, and perhaps the most sampled artist in hip hop history. We are saddened by his death, but take comfort in his amazing, relentless legacy."
