THE SKINNY ON THE POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE
The Polaris Music Prize is an adjudicated $20,000 award presented on an annual basis to the creators of a full-length Canadian album. THE JURY
The Long List and Short List are determined by an independent jury of 182 Canadian music journalists, broadcasters and music bloggers from across Canada. Eleven people are selected from the larger jury pool to serve on the grand jury. The grand jury will convene at the historic Concert Hall on September 21st during the Polaris Music Prize Gala to select the 2009 winner.
The jury is selected entirely of music journalists, broadcasters, bloggers and media personnel. No one with a direct financial interest in musical artists (i.e. managers, record labels, agents and music publishers) are involved in the selection process.

I first saw holyf*ck at spin gallery on bathurst street. The crowd was waiting for the dj set, with blind ears, while brian was teasing the soundtrack tape and treating us to a new magical music form.
