An interview with Pete Murray in Melbourne’s The Age newspaper featured a pic of ‘What’s on Pete Murray’s ipod’. First on the list, just above Creedence Clearwater Revival, was a band called Polaroid Fame with the words ‘Young exciting indie band from Byron Bay.’
Polaroid Fame hail from the laidback surfing mecca that is Byron Bay, but this is not another acoustic rootsy band singing about the ocean. This quintet of talented musicians is not so easily classified. Their inventive sound is a fresh and unique offering to the thriving local music scene.
The catchy upbeat tunes on their recent EP “Another place to live” offer the listener pop-rock hooks and lashings of electric riffs. There are influences of early 80’s pop tunes combined with their own modern take.
The upbeat edge of the songs belies an introspective, nostalgic side of their songwriting. Which, when combined with Frankie’s warm vocals reveal an honest charm that draws listeners into the sound that is Polaroid Fame.
With 3 of their tracks scoring airplay on Triple J and high rotation on ZZZfm, Polaroid Fame seem to have a knack for producing catchy songs. With an EP and Single already under their belt, they have teamed up with renowned producer Anthony Lycenko for their first album.
Byron Bay’s 301 studios has been a starting point on the album and so far the band are enjoying the creative freedom of studio time. With the album due to hit the streets toward the end of the year and a string of shows lined up. Polaroid Fame are set, and looking forward to an exciting year.

hey you lot what have you been up to? i miss you all. hope you are all doing well. im just sitting at home and just got the net on so im updating everything everyone is going good. megan is 8mths, weighs 8 kgs and sitting up. rani is nearly 4 and about 13kgs so she has some work to do so stay on top of megan cause megan is catching up in weight. weell gtg i have to start my school wsork and wash clothes for adam and rani. im doing aromatherapy foundatons now so im getting there. my first 2 assigments i got a distinction yahoo well im going now hope to see you all soon and i hopefully want to make it to one of your gigs love to all bbye love me xxoo
