Germany's top-a-top dub imprint Police In Helicopter roll it out white vinyl styles with a juicy riddim from Mungo's Hi-Fi backed with a darkside dubstep piece from Phokus and Mr Boogie. Mungo's 'Tweeky' is our pick, generating nuff heat with clipped polyrhthms and turbo charged bass sounding like Shackleton inna face off with early Coki productions. Phokus and Boogie come in hard and heavy on the flip with a DJ's rave tool built from Acidbass turbulence and low-riding halfstep patterns. Tuff! - BOOMKAT -

Top rudebwoy Disrupt gets busy with fresh dubhead Mahanee and Solo Banton with a remix from MG77's Phokus to ram the dance. Mahanee's original version features Jahtari and Scotch Bonnet MC Mikey Murka on vocal duties over a heavy modern dancehall production owing some dues to Kromestar styled dubstep. Disrupt's dub version has to be the EP highlight, feeding Mahanee's original through his THC coated filters to ruff up the bass and push out a mad Skwee alike 8-bit dubbers cut. For all the dubstep soundbwoys there's a rude remix from Phokus, building up the rave vibes with climaxing synths and a hard stepping system sounding somewhere between Narrows style dark garage and Rusko style rave cheek. "Mashup De Baldhead" is just immense, one of those spacious, well crafted widescreen BASS numbers that pays as much attention to atmosphere and pace as it does to the underlying heaviness which will provide it with the inevitable peak-time rotation it will no doubt receive in the coming months. Strong cyber steppin' dubs from Berlin's Mackjiggah for the Police In Helicopter label. Mackjiggah has a history in the Berlin free party and rave scene and most notably founded the wicked kool.pop imprint, possibly a million miles removed from the standard BLN mnml fare. 'Cheap Trick' lends from the UK dubstep styles of Skream or Benga and adds cold industrial drums to rave-igniting synthline drops before launching a fierce acid line to finish off the dance in clinical style.
