"The Boys and Girls in Blue" - Song influences:
The Moonshiners have been playing social events for the NYPD Emerald Society for the past several years. This, combined with some of the bands close family ties to the department, inspired this song. It is a tribute to the police. There have been many songs written that are "anti-cop" and do not give the police their due. This song recognizes the sacrifice and dedication that comes along with this duty. The band has had the privilege to know these men and women in blue.
This song is dedicated to the Men and Women of our Nations law enforcement and
in memory of my Father – P.O. William F. O’Brien (NYPD ret.)
Performed by the Moonshiner’s
Tom Burns - Accordion
Pat Lonzello – Bass
Bobby Moller – Drums
Joe O’Brien – Piano/Keys strings
Tom O’Callaghan- Vocals
Will Tereshkovich– lead / rhythm guitar
Dedication by: Tom Sullivan –Sergeant NYPD Emergency Service 6 (ret.)
Recorded and engineered by Matt Rifino - Fenix Studios, SI, NY

About The Moonshiners:
Tommy O'Callaghan, Joe O'Brien, and Bobby Moller first got into the Irish-Rock scene when they played together with the Flailin' Shillelagh's in the early 90's. Known for their satiric original, the "Potato Song", the Shillelagh's were a staple in the New York Irish/punk scene.
Years later, Tom & Joe recruited Patsy Lonzello to leave his very busy country band and formed the Moonshiners. Bobby returned to the band bringing back their signature hard driving Celtic rock sound. The Moonshiners' alumni include Billy Murphy, Rich Sweeny, Jim Brady, Richie McDade, Tom Cashman, and Joe Spufaro.
In 2005, Tommy Burns, of NJ's own "Burns & Cashman" added award winning accordian, guitar and vocals to the band.
And finally, in 2007, Will Tereshkovich joined the ranks of these five lads that shook the Celtic world with his brilliant guitar virtuosos.
