Pollux was born out of the solo work of singer/songwriter Carey Head.
The much vaunted frontman of alt-rock luminaries "Four Minute Mile" it seemed, had a
side that manifested itself when he wasn’t bullriding his halfstack over some of the
hardest rock in the city.
More compelling still, were the influences that reflected in the songs he wrote- Chet
Baker, Jeremy Enigk, Ours: A musical triumverate with a common theme of impeccable
songcraft bookended by meloncholy and catharsis.
Kevin Weber, also of 4MM, and Daniel Stevenson of Mobile Estate commited to learn
parts for what seemed like a sideproject/solo record.
The results were not to be predicted: Kevin, a studio and touring gun-for-hire with a
deep understanding of Carey’s work ethic being paired with drummer/songwriter Daniel
who is arguably still trying to play drums... but with a bass in his hands.
What would it be?
What it immediately became was something much greater than the sum of it’s parts; a
sound described by Ben Temchine of Your Call Radio as "Rufus Wainwright-meets-At The
Drive In".
Pollux: Music that won’t hold your hand or meet your family, but you can’t stop
thinking about it when it’s late and you’re alone.
Hi there, Thought we would drop by and let you know about our first live show in over a year , next week wednesday the 5th at the Hoxton bar and Grill . We thought we'd let some of our myspace friends know . It would be great if you could make it .
Hey, I'm chilling in my cubical this morning to the sound of yer tunes...are these live? Pardon if that's a dumb question, I'm working with micro mini comp speakers turned down super low here......they sound lovely is what I came to say. xo Heather
Question: Is it me or do you love my hair? Just kidding. I don’t really expect you to answer - I know you love us both equally. That’s the name of my new song. Check it out. And while you’re on my page, you should leave a really flattering comment. For example, you could say, “White Gold, your glass is always half beauti-full. You have a certain glow about you. And it isn’t just skim deep. Wow…Wow. Wow. Wow.” You know, or something like that. Speak from the heart.
