Movies
has to be true romance....kafka film was great too, 1984 the movie was interesting, schindlers list, fear and loathing in las vegas is great...... : )Send me your track
Television
jackson pollock (9a), gerhardt richtner, picasso, dan flavin, shepard fairey, banksy, jack yeats, i love jack yeats, why does everyone only talk about WB Yeats....optical art, pop art, illusions, space art....looking at visual art on walls is my television, the tate modern as a space is Londons answer to Berlin Berghain (why can't they make it into a club?), the only television I really look at is through my eyes and what they capture everyday....though this internet lark is pretty addictive screen viewing too....
Books
Reading a book at the moment of short stories about London, Orwells Animal Farm and 1984,The Da Vinci code, the works of William Shakespeare, Jane Eyre, Anne Devlin, Frank Mc Guinness, Yeats, Synge, Brian Friel, history and geography books interest me, visual art books enlighten and inspire me as they take my mind to another arena....... I write a lot of poetry and short plays on occasion, dissertation in college was a short play, I write about observations i take on life and what's going on around me..... love reading short plays and love anything that is political and uncovers or questions the system, trying to read some works on marx and want to read aldous huxley 'brave new world' at some point, noam chomsky, adam smith, the nice treaty all on the list to be read soon....the old testament is interesting as its different to new testament, going to try to take a look at the quoran to garner some balance and understanding as to why we are fighting when principally the message in these books is that we all believe in something similar.....
Heroes
anyone who sets up a business or anything that is new and sees it through in this cut throat world we live in. anybody who can beat an illness and come through the other side or survive in the memory of those living for what they achieved while sick.......anybody who can create really good art, music, writings etc ........for the art of creation is bestowed on really unique individuals in this world.........though part of me thinks we all have some aspect of creativity that we are good at in each of us.....
About me: These are my philosophies in life that I try to live by...
The best thing in life is try be honest and true........ try to be kind & make an effort to help other people....try to be compassionate.. try to laugh & smile....try to see challenges in the world as obstacles that can be overcome......try to give before you get...be it time, advice or a bit of love....destiny can be made or it can be fated you decide....most importantly laugh preferably as much as you can...try not to judge people, don't be afraid to ask the hard questions.....be an opinionated and intellectual woman...try to have an open heart and to use it for the greater good...forgive but don't forget (lest you get burned again...).....be open-minded and use your vote (believe me it does make a difference)......now,i don't always live like this but i try to.....so i'm a saint or a sinner depending on what your perspective is...I've been blessed that I have travelled a lot in this world seen a lot of different cultures.......met a lot of different people (some good, some difficult, the odd one just pure bad....) seen a lot of things that have made me question what life is and how we can make a difference to those with less then ourselves.....i have a preference to see the good in people rather then the bad........Nothing is unacheivable if you have a little faith and persistence....and remember...there is always some-one out there that is worse off then you so your health is your wealth and its never too late to learn how to smile...
