Polly Medlen is a brand new artist entering alternative country music with her debut album ‘Easier to Run’. Polly hails from Williams, Western Australia and her original music draws mostly from her country / roots influences.
Her music reflects her love of the ‘alternative road’ and her album crosses musically through country, folk and rock while her lyrics draw insightful images from her life and times. Her songs have that rare quality of instant rapport with audiences of all types and ages.
“A unique sound – she has a voice that becomes addictive to listen to – theres a certain tone, a wonderful ability to bend notes- and that little catch that contains so much emotion” Sue Jarvis – Capital News
Polly spent time travelling around Australia working, writing and playing along the way, and it was the inspiration she drew from life on the road and attending music festivals that she finally decided to come home, knuckle down and create her debut album "Easier to run". The decision definatley payed off for Polly, and within the year she picked up the 2006 WAM Country Song of The Year Award and had the opportunity to support true greats like Ian Moss (Cold Chisel) and Shane Howard and Neil Murray on the legendary
"Two Songman Tour".
In 2007, Polly scooped the pool at the WAM Songwriting Awards again, taking out the Best Country Song of the Year Award AND Best Regional Song. The unque and talented songwriter was also nominated for a WAMi Country Artist of the Year Award in 2008 and has since supported the likes of Bill Chambers, Paul Greene, Adam Brand, Jami Faulkner and Abbe May.

BLAKE SCOTT & THE FESTIVAL OF STABLE LIVING THURSDAY 10TH JULY 8PM/$8
Blake Scott & F.O.S.L. were formed in early 2006, in an ex brothel turned rehearsal space called the Wing Sing La Recording cooperative. Surrounded by bottles of home made wine, feline excrement and an old mattress, the lads began to set to life their often bacchanalian social commentaries against the backdrop of grandiose, and often over ambitious, musical compositions. What has manifested is a rather nonsensical musical picture which is absolutely no less than intriguing when witnessed live. The lads rollick, grind and shriek their way through songs filled with old chestnuts like loss, infidelity, nostalgia and of course topica numero uno, DEATH. The songs are soaked in clever hooks and eerie melodies and carry with them enough raw emotion to unsettle the stone foundations of even the coldest of hearts. Blake Scott & the Festival of Stable Living are currently recording their debut EP and have recently signed to new Melbourne Label, Arbitrage records.
For your fix of the socially unfixable, keep your little eyeballs and ears on red alert.
Supported by SILVERCITY HIGHWAY, ASH SANTILLA (67 SPECIAL), THE ALCORETTES.
