Poncho Kingz is a unique sound that emerges from the sun warmed streets of Capital City Mexico. A new revolution of Hip Hop Funky Tropical with everything to do with Electro-Latin rhythms and good vibes to enhance your life's journeys.
Created in Mexico City by Kristian Hannikainen and Pico Azpiri, the PONCHO KINGZ recorded their first album named PLAN DE CONTINGENCIA with BMG at the Electric Lady Studios in N.Y. 1997, pruduced by Didi Gutman (Brazilian Gilrs) & released in 1998. Climbing in the radio charts in Mexico and South America and in MTV LATINO's top ten, the band was invited to participate in the tribute album to the Mexican singer JOSE JOSE named UN TRIBUTO.
In the last ten years they have toured Asia, Europe, U.S.A. and Mexico. Last year they were featured on Clubstar Records' Latin Garden - The World of Latin Grooves with their hit song "Space Cumbia". They are now about to release their new production titled: BUENA ONDA CHILLING CLUB, recorded in Mexico City & Los Angeles, California and mixed by Hector Castillo (David Bowie, Bjork, Gustavo Ceratti) at the Looking Glass Studios (Phillip Glass Studio) in New York.
