  • Bio

PONIES TO KILL was formed sometime in 2006. Main idea is simply to play music that feels good, sounds good and kicks like a mule aired live! In this case it means metal flavoured rock music with strong melodies and slight retrovibe. Some sort of influences of this harder edge can be found from the 70..s to date. So if you ever liked Zeppelin, Purple, Metallica, Billy Idol or Ozzy, here is your ride! First rehearsals with the full line up took place in Helsinki summer 2007. There was more than a handfull of songs waiting to be rehearsed and as every member knew each other before joining the band it didn..t take much time to get on the stages. Ponies to Kill - promotion single was recorded and released summer 2008. These two songs introduced a rockband that's easy to approach and has enough street credibility even for the most demanding rockhead. At the same time guitarist Pexi Kulmala decided to leave because of personal reasons. - His big boots were filled by a master of guitars, Mike Grönroos. At the spring 2010 it was time to record some new stuff with the new line up. This session included four originals and one borrowed track from the mid 90's. During these recordings bass player Pekka Lehtola got tired of his busy schedule, and in walked Mikko Tång, a long time friend of the band. Mikko had already filled in for Pekka couple times so this change was as smooths as a sunny summer sunday. Thanks to all the gigs played in the past years Ponies to Kill sounds better than ever, and you can expect nothing less than a great rockshow whenever these wildhorses hit the town!!! "Koni laukkaa takatak, ja pitää turpansa kiinni." - Lucky Luke / Jolly Jumper
