Pontiac Drag Days is the country’s premier Pontiac drag racing series having
been in continuous operation since 1994. We are the country's longest running
regularly scheduled Pontiac drag race series of its type. Whether it is a 9
second full boogie race machine or a 19 second grocery getter, Pontiac Drag Days
offers a venue for all levels of the Pontiac enthusiast. Be it an early GTO,
Firebird or one of the “big” cars running the traditional Pontiac V8 or one of
todays' modern muscled Grand Prix GTPs, Firebirds, or new GTOs, Pontiac Drag
Days is the place to legally plant your foot into it!
Be it a pristine, original owner Tri-Power GTO, a custom Street Rod or a fully
modified Drag Car, Pontiac Drag Days is the race series for you!
Founded by Pontiac enthusiasts in Southern California, Pontiac Drag Days
operates an eight (8) race series at Los Angeles County Raceway (Palmdale, CA).
Competitors are local hobbyists; many are members of the local GTOAA, POCI and
Club GP Chapters. All are regularly joined by such legends of the Pontiac drag
racing scene as Jim Wangers, Pete McCarthy, Jerry "The Judge" Young, and Ken
Crocie. Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick has even made a couple of appearances at
Pontiac Drag Days.
Pontiac Drag Days was launched to offer local Pontiac hobbyists the opportunity
to display their lust for driving excitement. Pontiac Drag Days strives to
provide a venue focused on fun and sharing in one another's excitement for our
moniker.
Pontiac Enthusiast magazine columnist, Stan Rarden, in his Sep/Oct '99 column,
compared the founding and success of Pontiac Drag Days to that of the NHRA and
NASCAR. A comparison we are much honored to have received.
