‘The Legend Of Don Williams’ is the first of hopefully many in ‘The Pontypridd Tales’ series. The film is a black and white noir with influences from local folk tales as well as the crime genre. It’s set in a caricatured Pontypridd, the same but different!
Don Williams is a pianist in local Pontypridd bar. When his singer is murdered by a member of the local Taffia Don is distraught. He’s suffered loss before. When the police are unable to do anything for Seren Don decides to do something himself. He knows who did it and will make any sacrifice for Seren’s justice.P>
Dorien Thomas (Twin Town amongst others) stars as Don Williams and Ponty boys done good Lostprophets appear as the Taffia. BBC personality Roy Noble narrates. Here's the trailer if you fancied a look...
It would be really good if you could add me to your friends and tell your friends about it too. I really hope to get not just Ponty involved and interested in seeing it but South Wales in general (for starters). I think it could show Welsh filmmaking in a new light. That's the hope at least. I have to be confident.
This myspage page won't get updated much. It's an advert more than anything to tell you about my website. You can get a hell of a lot more information there by clicking the link. Check it out. Please. www.pontypriddtales.com
Feel free to bombard me with questions.
Maybe I should actually introduce myself. My name is Tony Evans. I made the Legend Of Don Williams in the summer of 2007 as the culmination of my Masters degree in film which I studied for at the International Film school Of Wales (IFSW) in Newport. I passed my degree so the film must have been okay. Now the film is completed my aim is to enter the film in competitions and festivals all over the world.
