Here's the skinny on what's happening. I play in two bands, The Midnight Prayers and The Weight, but then I write songs that don't fit in with either of these bands or everyone's too lazy to learn so I turn them into Fletcher solo songs. Ta-da! What you're looking at is a scattering of songs from the last couple of years. "Lost My Head" is a track that didn't make the cut for The Weight Are Men record. On this version, all of the Weight dudes are backing me up and I think it came out quite nice. After that we've got a song that I've released at least 4 times, "Gone Down the River." This is the latest version with me accompanying myself. This, combined with "She Knows I'm High" "Dreaming Of You" and "Just Your Kiss," are what I have done for the ever-looming new Fletcher C. Johnson solo record. There's about 5 more tracks that are written or half-recorded so it may one day be done! I'll post them as I finish them. For now, click on The Midnight Prayers profile to here my 4 new songs that comprise "Hat It Up To Here!" our latest release. Or, click on The Weight to here the latest version of "Did You Ever Know Boy" from the sessions for the next Weight LP, recorded during the Atlanta crime wave! Enjoy -------------This is also a short video Sto took of the Cinders show----------->

"I know that The Weight will drop an album of that name on August 5th via The Colonel Records, their first album and their first since playing our SXSW party in March. The classic rock/country-tinged "A Day In The Sun" (download above) is pretty representative of Are Men."
