Poor Ould Goat ignites the room from the opening notes of a reel or the first words sung of an Irish pub favorite. The band’s combination of rousing music and merry attitude has made them favorites of the old and young. The band plays a combination of traditional and contemporary Celtic music, sea chanteys and original songs in a spirited way. The songs sound simultaneously traditional and unique, regardless of the origin or era. This is due equally to the varied musical backgrounds of the band members and the various musical instruments the “Goats” play.
The instruments used by Poor Ould Goat are traditional to world folk music, including the mandolin, tin whistle, bodrhan, Irish bouzouki, accordion, djembe, acoustic guitar, talking drum, banjo and doumbek. The sounds of these acoustic instruments transcend their origins and complement the Celtic styles that Poor Ould Goat performs.
Poor Ould Goat has played shows for crowds from three to three-thousand, always making even the largest events seem like “a favorite Irish pub”, with sing-a-longs, banter, dancing and of course toasting. The “Goats” know how to have great times and can draw any size crowd into their merriment. The music and revelry make every Poor Ould Goat show, “a night not to forget”.

Hey Chris. Don't worry you do look cool in sunglasses. Boys Keep Drocking. It's the best thing I could come up with to combine drinking, and rocking....Pathetic I know. Anyway sorry I missed the show. Take care all
More shows added for St. Pat's week/weekend. Plenty of good seats still available for the 2/27 Gaelic Storm show at the Riv.
And as you turn your interests to Facebook, look us up there as well. Join the "Poor Ould Goat" group and get event reminders, check out photos, and kill your lunch hour doing something other than spy on high-school classmates you didn't talk to then either.
